What is the best Roster number for a 10U travel team? Based on experience what would most of you experienced coaches say? Can you bat entire lineup at 10U?

You can bat the entire 10 through 12U, that I am aware of. (Higher as well

The biggest questions are:
"How many pitchers do you have?"
"How confident are you in the pitching?"
"How many games/tournaments are you planning to play?"
"At what level of competition are you planning to play?"

I have always worked off the rule of thumb from 10-13 of having the same number of kids as the age. 10 at 10U, 11 at 11U and 12 at 12U, 13 at 13U, etc.

No more than 11 players unless your son is going to sit the majority of the time.

Why would his son have to sit most of the time? We had 13 on our team this year at 10u, which was to many! But we batted the roster in all of the events we played in that allowed us to. We had a good rotation that worked out pretty well. Just be honest up front and tell people how it will work and then stick to it.

I would say that the ideal roster number for 10u would be 11 players. 10 is just not enough if you have any injuries or family emergencies.

A lot of it depends on the talent that you have on the team. If you have weak players they will be the ones sitting. If your players are all good 10 would be a better number. If someone gets hurt you will have a extra player. 11 solid ball players is a good number that way you can sit anyone at any time. We started with 11 then went to 12. Some of the players had better bats that others, so the ones that were not hitting sat more. Then we went to 9 in the batting lineup. Bset 9 bats makes a big differance, compared to 11 with 2 so so bats.

It all depends on the commitment. If you have 11 commited players have 11 but if you only have 9 or 10 commited players go with 12.
