Sounds like changes are being made REAL QUICK -- no more bag searches, can bring 1 bottle of water, new sign with kids 14 & under free.

Facilities are amazing! Players loved it!
Huge negative- we followed the rules about coolers and didn't bring anything into the park last weekend.
Had a 9:45 pm game and around the 4th inning everything was suddenly closed and our players were left with nothing to drink.
Vending machines were not on, nothing in dugouts! If they are not going to allow coolers then something must be available anytime a game is playing! |

I heard that teams could purchase a water cooler for each game. Is that true? I have not been there yet, but "assumed" that ice water would be available in each dugout.

One of the vendors will sell a 5 gallon cooler of Powerade for the team for $20. No ice water in the dugout from games last week.
However, after a teams 1st game there it seemed most of the kids packed a couple Powerade's into their bat bag (since its a Coca Cola facility that sells Powerade for $3, and not as noticeable as drinking a Gatorade). |

Actually the 14 an under sign was there the day they opened.
We played there the morning of the first day and I remarked to my wife as we walked in that I was surprised it was not 12 and under. |

Hi All - neglected to mention the answer to the most popular question when my son played there.... Field Dimensions.
335 feet down the line
365 feet in the gaps
395 feet to CF
One field is a little smaller at either 380ft or 385ft to CF.

Since now. From the PG website for this weekend's upcoming WWBA for games hosted at LakePoint & HomePlate:
"No metal spikes will be allowed on the turffields both at LakePoint as well as HomePlate. All players must wear moldedcleats, turfs, or tennis shoes. We tried to accommodate the metal the past two weeks, but with the amount of games on the fields and turf mounds, we must change to no metal." |

Within the last few days. Our team was just notified for this weekend of playing at PG at Lake Pointe (15u WWBA). New Lake Pointe rule - No metal cleats.

Actually, we go to largefeet.com. They are in downtown Atlanta and carry sizes 14 to 22. We have actually seen some of Shaq's size 22 shoes.

I don't know that molded cleats are better than turfs (my son's going to use his turfs this week), and I'd think you could buy those locally in a 14 (we didn't have to start going online until he got to size 15).
I wouldn't be surprised if you get a molded cleat in a 14 at Dick's or wherever either, especially if a football cleat is close enough to work. |

| Well, I'm finally going to get a chance to go to the Lakepointe complex. Son's college team is playing there on Wednesday night, so I'm going to watch. This complex came along a couple years too late for him to benefit on the travel ball scene, but at least he'll get there for a college game. Looking forward to it. |
