| 1 out runners on 1st & 3rd. Fly ball to deep right which is caught. Runner on 3rd tags and scores. Runner on 1st was stealing 2cd on pitch, doesn't go back and tag and is on 2cd. Before next pitch pitcher steps off and throws to 1st - runner called out, inning over - Run doesn't count - right? |

| I don't have the rule, but I believe run counts. This is a time play, it is not a force play. Run scored before 3rd out was made, so it should count. |

Run counts, since the out is an appeal not a force, and as long as the runner crosses the plate before the appeal, it's good.
In this situation, you should probably always appeal the runner leaving third as well, even after recording the out at 1st. The runner at 3rd can still be declared out, negating the run, even if you've already gotten the third out at first, as long as you appeal before the defense leaves the field. |

| The game I seen this happen in - ump said run did not count. Would have been winning run, team that call went against lost in extra inning. Ump said it was force play so run not allowed. |

| Umpire was wrong. This is not a force play. It is an appeal/time play. No runner was forced out. A force play involves a situation where a runner is forced to advance a base because of a trailing runner or because he just hit the ball and is required - or forced - to go to 1st base. Obviously, this runner was not forced to go to second. Bad call by the ump. |
