I wanted to see opinions on so called "bad ball hitter". Basically for those that don't know the terminology, it is those that are able to excel at hitting pitches outside of the strike zone. Vladimir Guerrero comes to mind as he made an all star career out of doing it.

If you have ever read Ted Williams Science of hitting, he believed you could track hitters and see that when they got certain pitches to hit in certain zones they were more likely to get a hit or hit the ball hard in those spots. Basically a bad ball hitter is one that has no rhyme or reason to spots where they get more hits or hard hits. Guys who just flat out hit the ball sometimes here sometimes there, a lot of Latin guys are like this, great hand eye coordination. Vladimir comes to mind. I think if you try and get this type of guy to buy into the Ted Williams theory they struggle more than if they just go up there and hack. Just my take.
