5 Championships yesterday in the major class and not 1 winner from the state of GA?

9U = FL
10U = TN
11U = MS
12 = NC
13 = FL

Are we missing something? It's not like it's all FL teams and they are just ahead at this point in the season. To many options and the talent is spread thin? I don't know.

Not sure about the other ages, but in 12U, there were some very good games from some Ga Teams. The Astros and GOB were both basically one play away from beating EvoShield(who played great, executed well, and deserved the win. Not really behind, but could certainly have executed better in a few situations. Yard Dogs got beat in the Ship, but I am sure they played some really good baseball to get there.

I saw some really good games, and I agree with Moccs from another post, The pitchers were way better than the hitters at this point in the season.

In the 13U age group this year, the 2 finalist teams were created much differently. The winning team from Florida, Sport Elite had over 25 USSSA rostered players on their team from a huge number of other teams and it appears were on numerous USSSA rosters simultaneously with othe Florida teams. Their team was created for large tournament play. The other finalist team, 643DP Tigers was an all local Georgia team made up of players who all tried out at the 643DP facility back in August. GAUSSSA changed the rule for GA teams and you can no longer be on multiple USSSA teams within Georgia. Is that rule fair or equitable to teams in Georgia? You make the call. Personally, I think all USSSA state organizations should put a stop to players on multiple rosters at the same time. Make the playing field level on all tournaments and all teams wherever they play and then you can tell who the best teams.

As every coach in the 13U major class knows, if you bring enough quality pitching and players, you can beat anyone. No one is complaining about the process, but just realize that things have to work in your favor to beat national teams that are created for these large tournaments.

FL baseball is it's own world down there and we can say this and that but GA baseball didn't get it done this weekend - I have my ideas why, I wanted to see what others thought.

The 12u division in Ga has some really good teams, but the talent is still spread out. There are 35 major teams listed under USSSA in Ga and only 5 major teams listed in NC. With so many major teams the talent has to be spread out even with East Cobb in the mix. Evoshield is a good team but when you live in a state with so few major teams, I'm sure they have the pick of the litter. However, I wouldn't be to upset because Ga has created one of the best travel ball teams ever, the Ga Bandits, now under a new organization.

In 13u some of the GA teams knocked each other out in bracket play on one side of the bracket. The Longhorns made the final 4 and on the other side of the bracket the 643 beat 3 FL teams including the CF Gators to get to the final. With the exception of FS Titans, GA teams did very well in this agegroup. I also read a post yesterday that due to injury the 643 Tigers are looking for a pitcher/catcher. No 25 man roster to pull from there!

I see absolutely nothing wrong with the number of very competitive teams we have in Georgia. The kids challenge themselves every weekend and that's what its all about. Not so much state vs. state but kids getting better. Sometimes I think a player is better served on a well coached mid Major team that consistently plays the big boys. He's always facing quality pitching and has to work for every out.

There are only a few Major teams in the 12u division in NC because everyone here has a problem with USSSA and their tournaments. Top Gun baseball controls half of the state and Nations Baseball dominates in the western part of the state including the Charlotte area. NC has the same problems with the talent being spread out.

Make no doubt about it the roster limitations had to make a difference. GA teams were playing at a disadvantage...Personally I have no problem with the roster limitations as long as ALL teams in the tournament are playing by the same rules. But when out of state teams get to open up their rosters and Georgia teams do not..It makes perfect sense to me that the advantage swings to the out of state teams.

The results of the MAJOR divisions reflect that...

Every kid who can catch a fly ball in NC isn't playing travel baseball. The talent in Georgia is top 5 in the nation IMO. Problem is the talent is spread very thin in certain age groups. ECB is just one example of that, there are like 20 13u teams. Wasn't long ago that brand wasn't known for The number of teams rather the quality. Oh well it's hard to blame them, everybody likes money!
