The Easton omen was last year's clear hot bat in the -5 group. Moving my son to a -3 bbcore this year so i was wondering what what model(s) emerged as the hot -3 bbcore bat last year? |

Easton S1 has been the clear dominator in BBCOR. |

I don't think the S1 is the clear dominator. Every review I've read of the 2013 BBCOR bats say the Rip It Protoype Air is the best. Over $120 cheaper, 400 day warranty and 30 day money back guarantee if you don't like it. It lists everywhere for $279, Elite Sports in Marietta sells them for about $245. Worth checking out. |

Go with the Easton S1. It was nice last year and I just got two for our high school team. Every body is hitting with it and weve put up 21 runs over our last two games. You cannot go wrong with the S1, lightest swinging bat out there and the ball flies off of it. |

I'll add to the list of S1 supporters. The most popular bat on my son's team by far. To me, the Rip It has a heavier swingweight (more end-loaded) as opposed to the S1 which seems to have the balance point closer to the hands. The $400 price tag for the S1, while steep, doesn't bother me at all since my son is satisfied and convinced that he has the best bat out there. No more shopping for bats! |

Have head to head comparison from my son. Strongly prefers the S1 over the Rip it Prototype Air. Said the air felt too light, no response/feedback from the bat head. Another player on his team hit with it and said the same thing. S1 has more pop in direct comparison. Both are 2013 models. Your mileage may vary, but that is a head to head comparison from the same player of what he found. The Rip it went back within the 30 day guarantee window. Awaiting refund check. |

Bats are personal preference. This year I ended up buying the Rip-it because of the exceptional performance it provides. Easton S1 is a great one too. I saw a lot of good performance from it last year as well. I would strongly recommend hitting with one before buying it because they all swing differently due to the balance point, handle diameter, barrel length, etc. The best one is the one that performs best for you. |
