My son is 14 and I often hear that our age group is so talented. But my son is playing 15s this year and I just dont think we really have a clue as to how much talent there is out there. There was and exceptional age group several year ago in georgia where east had cobb several first round draft picks and there were a couple of more from the state of georgia. What is the next great age group to prevail.

Papa has been with the current 16U and the current 14U teams for several years and I watched more baseball in these age groups than I care to admit. And while I was there I have watched more than my share of the 15U group and I could not begin to answer that question. There are great players in every single one of these groups and I could even point out several 10, 11, and 12 year old players that you will be talking about in the coming years. I would say and I have said this for years that the current 14U group seems to be deeper in really good teams than the other groups that allows for some of the most hard fought and competitive games that I have watched and will surely help prepare and develop this group for the future. Sorry jalex but Papa is not ready to give the brass ring to any specific age group and you will most likely have to wait until the draft to get this question answered.

As a former coach and current umpire, i believe that the talent level is pretty good at each age group. However, the best age group for watching kids that have developed their skills and still play hard each and every game, would have to go to the 16u group. The ones that are still playing at this age group come and give their all most each game. This is the age group for me that is the most fun to watch for competitive baseball.

The 16s that are going to be playing 17 next summer is extremely talented. I know my kids in that group but knowing all the kids in this age group I think its the most talented. I put a post out when they were 14 stating the same thing. Several D1 kids in this group.

I say take a look at how many D1's are offered and committed from the group, we all have kids/know kids who are the real deal. I think the 2015 kids are the deepest at this point.
