I hope that every single person has a blast with their little one's tonight. Be safe and enjoy the time you will spend with your sons and daughters tonight. What type of costumes are we rolling with tonight? My 8 yo princess is a rock star. Pink wig, make up, tattoo's, etc. That's how we roll!
Papa, I bet the costume was great!! We have a few bags of candy left over and I'll drop one in the mail for ya bp. I have been out of the loop since Cooperstown in July and was wondering how those Bandits are doing. I almost had my opportunity to watch the team 2 years ago in Auburn at the NIT and it didn't work out. We were 11u at the time and my son and I wanted to see those young men play but our schedules got pushed back and we missed the chance.
The Bandits are officially no longer together but no one will ever be able to take away the memories that these kids have created. Life is like a roller coaster and there will always the highs and the lows but the Bandits always seemed to find a way to make the highs higher and the lows not so low. What a team and what a group of families that came in and out the Bandits door. Several of the Bandits are still together on the Georgia Jackets and we all look forward to a bright future for them but all of the kids have found a place to hang their hat and we hope that they all develop into the players that I have always known they are. The Bandit ride was the ride of my life and all I have to do to see a replay of every single game they played is to close my eyes and call on what little memory I have left. I haven't figured out a way to get the memory in color yet and I am still viewing in black and white but maybe that's just my age.
If you have never seen them play then you have missed a treat. If you have a dictionary and turn to the word "Team" a picture of the Bandits should be there as an example. I know that you must have had a blast in Cooperstown that has always been one of my favorite spots in the world. Favorite I suppose because we have been so lucky in that park. Having been there you will know how impressive the stats that I am fixing to give you is.
Out of 5 trips to Cooperstown I will list the results of the teams my grandson's have played on in Cooperstown.
10U Chiefs won the championship 12U Chiefs was runner-up in the championship game 10U Bandits won the championship 12U Bandits won the championship 3N2 Knights that Chaney played for at 12U won championship.
Cooperstown is a special and hallowed place in my eyes and one of the best baseball experiences that can be found and I will always count these trips as some of the most awesome baseball experiences that I have been blessed to witness.
It sounds like you and son are headed in the right direction with this baseball thing and I hope that he pursue's his baseball dream with as much passion as my Bandits have. Good Luck to you and your son.
Bandits...best 12u team, coaches and supporters to come out of Ga. They had TBS best coach, player and team of the yr. TBS should have gave best sponsor of the year to PAPA!
Papa, One heck of a list to be extremely proud of. I followed the Bandits in C'town last year and couldn't get on the web to see the ship. I was disappointed to say the least. We actually got close enough to see the finish line but we steered of course when the wheels came off the bus as we ran into a man child team from Ca. in the final 4 and I wouldn't trade that experience for anything! I also would like to send you and the Bandit family the best of wishes in life and baseball.
