As the director of the 14U Mid Atlantic NTIS Team, I would like to congratulate all of the players that advanced to the 14U Mid Atlantic NTIS Team. The 14U USA Baseball NTIS event was held at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. on Sept 6-9, 2012.
2013 14U USA Baseball Mid-Atlantic NTIS Roster: Douglas Angeli - Spartanburg SC Tucker Bradley - Chickamauga GA KC Brown - Garden City GA Daiqon Davenport - Forest City NC Jaylon Dyer - Horn Lake MS Griffith Faircloth - Baxley GA Wheeler Eastman - Muscle Shoals AL Jonathon Gettys - Gainesville GA Shannon Glover - Columbia SC Rian Haire - Hudson NC Ben Highfill - Apex NC Ethan Holsombeck - Birmingham AL Kale Ledford - Oxford GA Will Lumpkin - Roanoke AL EP Reese - Lexington NC Chaney Rogers - Silver Creek GA Alex Strachan - Madison AL Austin Weiermiller - Alpharetta GA
Each of these players put their best effort forward while at the NTIS, however I was most impressed with the character and sportsmanship that these young players demonstrated and the bond that was created between them as Mid Atlantic team mates. I can honestly say there were friendships made that I feel will last for a long time.
Congratulations to Mid Atlantic Players: Tucker Bradley, Jonathon Gettys and Shannon Glover for advancing to the USA Baseball 15U National Final Trials Team. These 3 players will attend the 15U National Final Trials at the USA National Training Complex in Cary, NC which will be held at the end of next Summer. The players will be competing for a spot on the 15U USA Baseball National Team. The players that advance to the 15U USA Baseball National Team will leave from directly from the 15U National Final Trials to attend the 2013 Pan Am Games which will be held in a South or Central American country at the end of next Summer.
In addition, congratulations to Spencer Adams from Cleveland, GA who advanced to the 2013 17U National Team Development Program and Mack Marshall from Lilburn, GA who advanced to the 2013 18U National Team Trials.
Since 1978, USA Baseball has been the national governing body for the sport of baseball. It represents the sport in the United States as a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) and internationally as a member federation of the International Baseball Federation (IBAF).
Nearly every major national amateur baseball organization in America is united as a USA Baseball National Member Organization. As a result, USA Baseball governs more than 12 million amateur players in ballparks and playgrounds across the country. As the commissioner's office for amateur baseball, USA Baseball is a resource center for its various membership group, fans, and players. USA Baseball is also responsible for promoting and developing the game of baseball on the grassroots level, both nationally and internationally.

I tried to learn as much as possible from your website but still have several questions:
1. When and where was the announcement for midatlantic ntis 14u? I looked on the midatlantic website many times over the last few months and only saw 16u ntis.
2. What happens after the sept ntis for 14u? Does the midatlantic 14u team play other regions?
3. You mentioned three 14u players advancing to 15u, is that the only way to advance is from the 14u team?
4. Please confirm if you have to turn 14 yrs old between jan 1st and dec 31st of this year to tryout in sept. for 14u. |

1. The Mid Atlantic roster was listed on the USA Baseball website under the NTIS Event tab.
2. The Mid Atlantic player commitments are for the NTIS event. The Mid Atlantic team played against other regions during the NTIS Event. The 3 Mid Atlantic players that advanced will attend the 2013 15U Final Trials that will be held at the end of next Summer. The Final Trials is a 4/6 day final tryout that is held in Cary, NC at the USA Baseball National Training Complex.
3. A total of 16 - 14U players were invited from the 2012 14U NTIS Event to the 2013 15U Final Trials Team. The remaining 2013 15U Final Trials players will be invited from 2013 15U USA Baseball events that will be held this Summer such as the 2013 15U East Championships. The 2013 15U USA Baseball National Team will be chosen from the players at the 2013 15U Final Trials.
4. The 2013 15U USA Baseball National Team is available for those players that were born on or after Jan. 1, 1998. International Play uses the Jan. 1 dob cut off, not the May 1 dob cut off that most are accustom to. The 2013 - 14U NTIS Event that will be held in Sept. of 2013 will consist of players born on or after Jan. 1, 1999.
Hope this answers some of your questions.
Sincerely, Shannon Ivey 14U Director, Mid-Atlantic Region USA Baseball National Team Identification Series www.midatlanticntis.com www.usabaseball.com
