My heart goes out to the Locus Grove program. Today they lost one of their kids in a tragic accident.
I would urge you all that read this message board to remember that our boys are just that. I have three myself 11YO 8YO and 8MO and sometimes I forget that baseball is nothing more than a vehicle for my son(s) to develop into responsible men.
These boys want to please us, their parents. They want to play and be boys. Sure they want to be in the big leagues, but what if they don't? Take a deep breath today sportsfans and remember the joy of these boys and celebrate those that can't play.
And for God's sake develop some perspective about what's important.
Our team is from Locust Grove and Knew the family and the child. Our family has played with them and against them over the years. Was a great kid and family and our heart goes out to them all. A truly great loss for the family and Locust Grove Baseball.
Conner was hit by a car as he ran to catch his bus this morning. Just saw the newscast. He was 11 and his father is the chief (I think) of the Henry Co PD. Just horrible. My prayers for all involved.
His father is a captain with the police department and his mother also works there. Conner played 11u select ball and tournament ball out of Locust Grove and his father coached both for years. Locust Grove canceled all games tonight and held a candle light vigil in his memory at the ball park, all score boards remain lit with his number-23.
