USA BASEBALL ANNOUNCES TRIALS SELECTIONS FROM 2011 NTIS
Eight players named to 2012 18U trials, eight selected for 2012 16U trials
and 16 named to 2012 14U trials

DURHAM, N.C. -- USA Baseball announced its 2011 National Team Identification Series (NTIS) trials selections on Friday on a selection show on www.USABaseball.com. The show comes five days after the conclusion of the NTIS, held Sept. 9-11, at the USA Baseball National Training Complex and Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, N.C.

The NTIS concluded with a total of 70 games played, featuring 756 players from three different age groups (13U, 15U, 17U) and 14 teams from across the country. Using the NTIS as the identification vehicle, USA Baseball named eight (8) players to the 2012 18U National Team Trials, eight (8) players to the 2012 16U National Team Trials and 16 players to 2012 14U National Team Trials.

“The NTIS talent pool has consistently grown deeper each year,” said Rick Riccobono, USA Baseball director of development. “It makes our job as talent evaluators that much tougher, which ultimately is a good problem to have as we look ahead to assembling gold medal-winning National Teams in 2012.”

For the third year in a row the announcement was made via an online selection show, which streamed on www.USABaseball.com. Scores, recaps and rosters from the 2011 NTIS can also be found at the online home of USA Baseball.

The 2011 NTIS selections for the 2012 USA Baseball 14U/16U/18U National Team Trials are as follows:
