Every year I have trouble finding gear to fit my son. And this year is no different. Anyone on here have that "big kid" that nothing seems to fit? Who sells socks and cleats for large, wide feet?

-I need size 12 cleats in a wide width. Molded spikes since he will be playing 12u and some 11u.

New Balance has molded cleats up to 2E width. They have 4 stores in Metro Atlanta area, although I'm not sure if they sell cleats in those stores. You can order them online from their website.

Both my boys have wide feet and we haven't had too much trouble finding regular width shoes that fit, even though their other athletic shoes are wide(New Balance). They both wear size 12. They have tried quite a few to find the right ones, though. If you are given socks with your uniform, check to make sure they are adult size. I can't tell you how many times our team was issued youth size socks when they were younger. My boys could never even get them around their heels to pull them up! Any store that sells athletic gear should have a few good choices. The last ones we bought were from Dick's.

Thanks. Cleats are one of the biggest challenges every year.

I think they should lower the age for metal cleats just for this reason....Mine is in a size 9-9.5 and while you can find molded cleats in those sizes it isn't at easy as finding spikes

What age do we move to metal cleats? We are skipping 11u mainly due to my son's size. He can either be the oldest kid on 11u, or a younger one on 12u. At 5'9", 185 pounds, he was just too big to not move up.

He eats chicken and gaterade :-)

My son isn't tall yet, but his feet are huge. He's 12, about 5'2" weighs 95 and wears an 11. My 18 yr old wheres an 11! All his food goes to his feet I guess!

Mine started with big feet and have grown into them. They're tall and thin, but with giant feet. Must be the chicken:)
Metal cleats for the most part at 13u.
