| Lots of good competition. Not all the heavy hitters, but plenty of stout teams. I like the three game pool play. Teams will have to use some pitching to make sure they make it into the gold bracket. |

Turn Two's guess looked good to me ...can't argue with it.
Looks like it didn't happen only due to the draw that came out but man, I saw part of the Gainesville vs GA Power game and it was a fantastic pitchers battle. One HR is it on a 225 ft temporary fence but Gainesville earned it. Actually, GAP hit the ball on the nose in the innings I saw but Gainesville made the plays. Saw that temporary fence rattled a few times but not to be. Both teams threw great and played awesome on defense. In fact, I had to check my watch...game was over in 1:10 mins I heard some of the fans say. Most 12U games and under don't go fast as we all know so it was pretty refreshing.m I wanted to see 643 Coygars play too - don't sleep on them, well coached! That should have been a final four type game but the draw is what it is. Turn Two, you gotta like AL Sox now right? You think Blue can beat them? Weather is likely to win but the draw was a little weak in that it pitted several teams that had a little easier pool and so you had two big teams matching up early. Too bad this weather is moving in. I would like to see this play out. Nice game by the EC Yankees this weekend..that's a big win against Smartense for sure. Anyone see that game live? I guess if the weather holds I would take Gainesville if you made me pick. AL Sox are tough but I want to see them play a good solid team to see what happens. I know they beat ST earlier in the Super NIT over in AL but it was the first tourney of the year and they did not see the big pitchers for ST if I recall correctly.
Anyway, Praise God for the warmer weather! We need it. Let's see what this weather does. |

I think Blue can hang with them... I'm not sure, outside of 2-3 pitchers that I know of, if anyone can quiet the Sox's bats. Whew, they can hit a TON. They grown men out there. But, a good hitting team (G-Ville and GAP to name a couple), could expose the Sox's Achilles heal-- their often sloppy defense. With not having to use their aces (2), up to the point the rain washed the tourney, the Sox were loaded and ready to make a run. In other news, Tribe and Squeeze go to Myrtle and played in the NYBC qualifier, with Tribe edging Squeeze in 'Ship 3-2 in a pitchers dual of epic proportions. Tribe punched their ticket to play in Central Park (NY) televised on CBS late summer this year. Squeeze will be playing in NY too, when they punch their ticket in the coming weeks. RBI 108 punched their ticket to the Elite 32 in Disney this summer by taking the 1-seed, after pool play, and were primed and ready to make a run Sunday. Regardless, mission accomplished for them. Their next ticket they look to punch, is the Super25 in Ft. Myers. |

| There is no requirement to play in any tournaments prior to Cooperstown. They are just voluntary tournaments so you can get the experience of playing on the short fences. |

Off the subject but triple crown related - when does the game time for a game begin and who makes the ultimate call on such? There were several games in this tourney that had 2-3 minutes left in the game at the end of 5 innings and the ump called it. The crowd protested but the umps just sort point at each other and keep walking after calling the game. Both games I witnessed were tight games and could have turned either way. Granted both were in pool play but it still matters imo - otherwise why have a time limit? You’d just let the game end when the ump feels like it.

However that works, but that's the reason for playing in a "Road to Cooperstown" tournament. |

Good afternoon, everyone. I'd be happy to clarify for you.
No new inning can start after 1:45 for 8U-12U age groups. Doesn't matter how much time is left.. two minutes or 20 seconds. If there is time left on the clock and the inning has rolled over with the defense back on the field warming up, the inning will continue.
Time on the clock starts as soon as the home plate meeting is concluded, and should be announced by the umpire. If an official game time is not given, please ask the umpire for the official time so scorekeepers can be in sync with the clock kept by the umpire.
If there is ever a dispute regarding time of play, please notify your site director at your field and they will be more than happy to help resolve the issue. A dedicated TC site director should not be too far from the field.

Thanks for jumping in to try and clarify, but this part doesn't work:
"If there is time left on the clock and the inning has rolled over with the defense back on the field warming up, the inning will continue."
That qualifier is too vague and opens it up for different interpretations. (Is one defensive player on the field with his glove on enough, or does it have to be all nine actively warming up?)
The moment a new inning starts needs to be the same moment the prior inning ends, which is when the third out in the bottom half of that inning is called.
