the final 4 were Wills Park Warriors vs 643 Jaguars and in the other semi Roswell Hornets vs the Roswell Renegades. Final was Hornets over the Wills Park Warriors 20-13. |

I don't know what happened in the 10U's, but the travel teams held court in the 11's. EC Colts beat Hebron Angel's in the finals. The Buckhead all-star teams that played this event where nothing like NYO or the Buckhead Braves who are all star teams from the same area capable of beating most travel teams.
I hope this event has a web site next year, it was a great event.

Looks Like the Roswell Hornets lost both pool games and won 4 games on sunday to take the title. They took out the ECB Tigers and Wills Park Warriors in the final both were the number 1 seeds.
I believe the Roswell Rengegades (all star) beat Georgia Grip. |

Wow, Roswell loses both pool games and has to play an extra bracket game. Plus they got the heavily favored Tigers and took them down fairly easily judging by the score on the Roswell site. Kudos to coach John and his group of kids! |

Thanks! We dug ourselves a hole for sure on Friday even though we played fairly well. Sunday was a grind playing four games with only 10 players (the last 3 were back-to-back-to-back), but we played solid defense all day long and the bats came alive at the right times. First game was at 8:30 Sunday, the championship game didn't start until nearly 9:00 and it was after midnight by the time it was all over. A memorable Father's Day though! I appreciate your kind words. John Ryan 10U Hornets |

Congratulations to Coach Ryan and the Hornets! We spotted them 9 runs the first two innings and you just cannot do that to a solid team. They hit the ball, made the plays and threw strikes. Extremely impressed with the way the coaches handled the kids and tempo of the game. We had our chances at the end, but the Hornets held tough. Again, nice job Hornets.

Congrats to the Roswell Hornets!! They hit the ball well and played solid defense. We (Wills Park Warriors) made way too many errors and played catch up all night. We kept waiting for the hornets to run out of gas and in the end, they did not. Long game and a long day. Good day of baseball.
Hats off to you John!!

I think the tournament will be better and even bigger next year with more teams and more Gwinnett Parks involved. I think they will have to add more Parks because of the number of teams turned away and the 9U championship didn't end until 1:00AM I was told. I think this could be the start of something big. I wish this would have been around when my kid was starting 9U. |

WHITLOW: I can see this event becoming as large as any event being held currently in Georgia, and maybe even larger. The reason is the number of high quality parks and umps that are available in a fairly concentrated area. As it grows, they will need Gold Silver bracket set up to attract all skill classes. There was a changing of the guard atop the Gwinnett Parks and Rec Department last year, and the new Department Head has got to be more travel ball friendly than the outgoing one. |
