Decatur Vipers GA USSSA is showing both you guys and the Georgia Bandits as playing in both the Stockbridge tournament and the Conyers event. Did the Stockbridge one fall through? |

They're a very good team. They beat us a couple weeks ago 6-4. We left runners on second and third in the last inning, but couldn't get that "timely" hit! We're looking forward to some competitive baseball at a new park for us! |

DecaturDad...............are you guys still in Stockbridge? I looked up that event on the USSSA website this morning and all it's showing is the 11u age group. Did the other ages get cancelled? |

It is still on. I just received the schedule. Should be a well matched tournament:
GA Bandits Acworth Warriors GA Yard Dogs Red Fayette Mets Exchange Park Marlins Decatur Vipers
I am looking forward to an exciting weekend. This will be our last event before Cooperstown in two weeks.

The Powder Springs Iron Pigs finished second to the Carroll County Lions in 7 innings 18-12. (I think!) Great game on both sides! Our boys played hard against some very good competetion and we're extremely excited to be heading to State! |

The AA tournament at Conyers had (10) teams, the AA tournament at Stockbridge had (6) teams, and the AA tournament at Statesboro had (2) teams. (2) teams quailfied from each tournament? A (2) team tournament and both earn berths? |

If I understand it correctly, berths will be offered to more than 2 per tournament once they are all done and preference will be given to the teams that finished 3, 4, 5, 6 etc in tournaments with more competition. For example, I bet that USSSA will offer berths to several teams from the Conyers substate and a couple from Stockbridge.
Of course, this is just my understanding...I could be wrong.

That would be a little more understandable than allowing two teams that played against each other twice in a Sub State to both qualify without playing additional competition. If this is the case, I wonder if USSSA waits until a team choses to play in the second Sub-State this coming weekend and doesn't qualify before offering the berth for finishing third the first weekend. |

That would be my guess. For example, the Lions are playing again this weekend so if they were to come in first or second again then they can't take 2 spots so it is going to go to someone else. I would think that the next one in line would be the #3 teams from Conyers since that tournament was the most competitive, so far. After that it might be the #3 teams from Monroe or Stockbridge.
Of course, once again, I am just speculating....I have no idea and nothing to base that one other than reading the Georgia USSSA Web Site.

That makes complete sense. I see Carroll County playing in Villa Rica with just 2 other teams at the moment. Should be easy for the other 2 to qualify! :)
Only 1 team in Ellijay, 4 in Peachtree City, and 7 in Monroe. |

Hmmm....they are also one of the teams showing up in PTC. I spoke to the TD from PTC yesterday and he said that he would be putting out schedules today so I hope they make up their mind quick ;)

It looks to me like they moved the Villa Rica one to East Carrollton so that was a no brainer for them. Play at home.
I am with the Fayette Mets.
