What a game last night between 643 Jaguars and HomePlate Chilidogs Lawson. Two great teams that played good baseball. HomePlate was down 4 to 1 in the 5th and came back to win the game in extra innings 7 to 6. Both teams have great kids and great coaches. Looking forward to more great baseball this weekend.

Is there a link to see what time the games are and the results?

Bandits win the 1st annual 643 Invitational Tournament and got our first opportunity this year to match up with our 2 biggest Georgia Rivals. Someone from Team Georgia mentioned that they had been waiting a long time for this rematch. Team Georgia has an athletic team but were again no match for the Bandits as the Bandits took them down 17-2 and this set up the rematch with our biggest rival the 643 Cougars. Although we had beaten them in pool play 10-0, Papa is never comfortable playing them as they are so fundamentally sound and make few mistakes but I have to say that when my Bandits play like they did today that a lot of teams will have their hands completely full and we beat the Cougars 19-4 for the championship. When the Bandits play like they did this weekend and all phases of their game is on they are and will be a force to be reckoned with. We are now off to the Super NIT in Florence, Alabama and our first weekend with #12 fully recovered and look forward to getting him back on the mound. Side note for all of you Home run guys. Bandits hit 16 home runs in 5 games during this tournament.

How many kids on the team hit homers???

Wow and I've always thought as the Bandits as a defensive and good pitching team. I guess add hitting to the list...

If Papa can remember correctly I believe that 6 different players hit home runs for the Bandits this weekend. The fields were shorter than normal with it being 195' down the lines and 225' to centerfield. But let me say this also there were at least 5 that landed in the road and 3 that went completely over the road. You all know that I am not that big of a home run guy but I have to admit that it was a thrill to see the boys smile when they circled the bases. You guys might have converted ole Papa.

Papa my nephew played with #13 and #5 last season and it made my weekend to see TC hit that monster shot on Saturday night. That was by far the deepest HR I have ever seen him hit and I just couldn't believe they threw him that pitch, and then I couldn't believe how far it flew. Congrats to the Bandits, they flat out dominated this weekend.

Spartan4: It was nice to meet you at the field this weekend and thanks for the compliments to the Bandits. There were at least 5 monster shots hit by #13 and #20 this weekend with several tape measures thrown in by #12. Bandits have never been known for their hitting prowess but my how changed this weekend.

They hit six off of our boys. Gotta give 'em credit here. They hit home runs off of fastballers and junk ballers. They hit a HR on two cutters from two different pitchers (righty and southpaw), spike curveball, two seamer riding in on the righty (he pulled it as he should), and two four-seam fastballs. Two of the home runs were hit on full counts. They were very disciplined fouling off the tough pitches until they could get something they could handle. The silver lining was most were solo shots!

Well, at least we got one HR off of them too! LOL! We'll keep working and look forward to playing them again.
