When you get to 8th grade do you play 13major or 14aaa? Will not having the time at 60/90 make a difference as a freshman?

I think it's the ability of the player. I personally think anytime you can start at 60/90 the better prepared for High School the player will be.

I think grade. It would be better to play the 60/90 before you get to HS. Despite what teddy says, you really should be as prepared for HS as you can. For two reasons. One is because there is no guarantee that you will not be a contributor on varsity untill 11th grade. My son was a starting varsity pitcher as a freshman. In all fairness, part of that was because he is good and part of it was because there was not a whole lot of good pitching on our varsity team. He threw around 82-83 with a breaking ball and change. So it can happen. The other reason is, a lot of the HS teams are very competitive for spots. Many don't have freshman teams and you are competing for a spot on the JV team. That means you are competing against other freshmen, sophomores and even some juniors. At our HS, there were 30 freshmen trying out for baseball. Some made JV, some got cut and the rest were on the freshman team. We are lucky to have a 9th grade team. At another HS I know of, there were 60 freshmen trying out for the JV team along with the sophomores and jr.'s. A LOT of freshmen got cut.

I don't know where you guys will go to HS LLH, but if I were you, I would be as prepared as I could to be ready for HS tryouts. In my opinion, getting used to the 60/90 field and playing with the older kids is a big part of that.
