the Vipers might have lost the strongest arm they had last year but they certainly picked up more depth at the plate...hands down. I think they actually are a better team capable of putting up more runs this year. As for good draws, I would say the Titans had just as favorable a draw. The best teams ended up in the final where they should be for that tournament.
Don't understand the "draw" comment by alsoup.....The Vipers are obviously not a ECB based team and therefore have absolutely no input as to who they play. I do think anyone at the tournament though would agree that the two best teams in the event played on Monday night.
If you are not a ECB team all you can do is show and play whom every they put in front of you. In retrospect I thought pool #4 might have been the most competitive. The Phillies can hit, Team G White is solid although a little inconsistent right now and 13U Astro's do OK out of their class.
BB Maniac - I agree that the two best teams played for the title. I know what alsoup is trying to say. Titans played 2 majors in pool, including a strong Panther team that they had to spend pitching on when both were 2-0. Vipers did have an easier time of it and everything lined up to go after the Titans. Titans, not so much for the Vipers. However, the Vipers are clearly my best team other than the Astros. The jury is out on the Stallions without the Astros players on their roster.
That being said, I agree with the pool drawings. I didn't see any one team getting a favorite draw on purpose.
By the way, what happened to ECB Team Rawlings?? 0-2 and a tie to a AAA team? I know what I said earlier but I did not expect this. Not a good tourney for them.
I can't speak of why they lost the two they did, but in Team Rawlings' tie to the AAA team they didn't hit the ball much.
