Do these pools look like they were drawn out of a hat? No. They took the four favorites, gave them their own pool, and kept the ECB teams away from each other. Just like every other tournament director would do. So let's not single out Tony for doing this at Triple Crown. It's the right way to do it. |

It should have been done by points, as the USSSA claims how they seed. It appears they haven't...
Should have been done like:
Pool A – 1, 8, 9 seeds
Pool B – 2, 7, 10 seeds
Pool C – 3, 6, 11 seeds
Pool D – 4, 5 , 12 seeds
Using the "serpentine" method from their "points rankings" of teams entered for that tournament using USSSA pts rankings starting w age, classification then registration date.

Pool 1 1 Team Rawlings 8 Georgia Jackets 9 Kennesaw Mustangs
Pool 2 2 Georgia Panthers 7 Team Gwinnett Blue 10 Shamrock Baseball 14u
Pool 3 3 East Cobb Phillies 6 PC Vipers 11 Georgia Roadrunners
Pool 4 4 Team Gwinnett White 5 EC Titans 14U 12 EC Astros
From a strength of pools perspective, the only difference would be that TG White and EC Titan's would be in the same pool. I am not sure that sorting them by points would have made any better or worse pools. Looks close enough to make good pool brackets. You notice the two TG teams did not end up in the same pool either. I would have expected the same level of complaining about that, if they had, as with the EC teams. Pool 3 does not have a EC team in it, but pool 4 has 2 in it, so it could not have been totally about seperating out the EC teams. |

Thought USSSA Nit tourneys were supposed to be pooled based upon points? |

No diss here but I would be really surprised if Team Gwinnett White was considered a favorite in this tournament they have not gone far into brackets this year
East Cobb teams should win each pool |

No diss here either, but an EC team is not going to win Pool 3 |

If I am not mistaken, you have to play in at least 1 qualifier to play in the state tournament (a Super NIT counts as a qualifier). That was put in 2 years ago, if I am not mistaken. They wanted it to be 2 events to qualify, but that was reduced to 1. |

You are right i think, but the state tourney is not even remotely desirable tourney this year as far as i can tell. I know there are ones for seperate divisions but not a lot of interest. I think global competes with usssa and they are the same org. |

might have something to do with the tournament director. Apparently the one listed on the ECB website and USSSA has nothing to do with this tournament. |

The TD's are responsible for updating the USSSA website, if I am not mistaken.
The brackets were listed on the East Cobb Website but not transferred over to the USSSA site yet.

you can not do points based and give home cooking at the same time..very discouraged by what i see in this one is there a reason usssa can not run a website of their own? Will ECB allow them to |

Vipers playing in TN Super NIT this weekend. Total of 5 major teams signed up. Looks like 5 AAA also though I am not sure if they are playing up or in their own division.

Looks like the VIPERS are still winning despite loosing one of their best players... Must be the coaching and still having great players........Keep on wearing em out despite the good draws you get(HA Ha) |
