Agreed! We had an 8 inning pool play game with HP Lawson (international 3 times in 3 hrs 15 min), both teams scoring runs in each of the last 4 innings. Lawson winning 13-12 on a grandslam. What a day! |

Sounds like a great game! So much for pool play not counting. |

Read the scores for the entire tournament and you begin to get a picture of what Georgia Travel Baseball is truly like. There are so many great teams that can win any game they play and there is no team that can pull away from this pack. Papa has said for 3 years now that the hardest place to win baseball games consistently is in the state of Georgia due to the high number of good teams that are capable of beating one another. |

That grandslam from HP Lawson's team came from the coaches son #13. What a great hit it was! |

7 one run games in the Gold Bracket alone. Can anyone confirm how many games in the tournament went into extra innings or had to use the Tie Breaker rule?

I watched the last few innings of the HP CD Meyer vs SS Spartans Black. I think it went 8 or 9 innings. One of the most exciting games I've seen in a while. HPCD had 2 2-run homers to tie the game in different innings, one of those in extras.
All the time, we are waiting for the winner thinking that both teams must be running out of pitching. Then, after HPCD had won, a kid for them shows up in a shiny white pair of pants and clean uniform. We're thinking they've brought in a ringer to shut us down. The kid threw the whole game for them and did a great job. |

Bandit Funny story behind that. He has been there #1 for years. He spent the day gaining a very important badge for the Boy Scouts. I know his dad and he is BIG in scouting. The first time I met "B" he told me he was going to be an Eagle Scout. You know there SS and CF came from our team. Both are solid, after playing you guys they called me and told me about it. They also talked about all of that Bandit Spirt from the parents. They said WH's mom was leading the chants. It wont be long before them boys are all healthy and hitting on all cylinders. When that happens look out. Congrats. On a side note we finally won one also. We beat a pretty good OP Sharks team in Lagrange. quote: Originally posted by Bandit_Hawk

Yeah, BT, that was the story we heard also about the young Scout. Sounds like a fine kid with his commitments in order. Glad that you guys pulled one out. I knew it was just a matter of time.
The Bandit Mom's were definitely in high gear by the time we played HPCD. We had been flat all tournament until the end of the GA Acad Red game. We were all looking around at each other wondering what had gotten into our boys. I coaxed the Mom's to start their cheers and it seemed to pick up the spirits of all the boys and they were able to finish the tournament on a good note. That is one awesome group of cheerleaders we have !! |
