I'll start off with my final 4

EC Team Rawlings, EC Stallions, EC Titans, Team Gwinnett White. However Longhorns could bump one of those out. For what its worth.

Titans handled the Stallions in the previous meeting and went on to defeat the Vipers for an earlier Championship!. I would expect the same result this weekend. Could be an East Cobb final 4.

And look at pairings, its obvious that Triple Crown rewards EC teams for use of fields be keeping them apart from each other (the top 5) in pool play. You can say all you want about seeding but it can not work out that perfect each time

I don't usually use the term HANDLED when someone wins 5-4 like the Titans did against the Stallions back in February. I hope we see them play again this weekend. I'm sure JimSchwartz and his Titans don't.

what i like for the Titans team is ever coaching

there group of talent is mixed maybe a far cry from top to bottom but coaching can make a close game out of bad and good game out of average

that can make a good team over seasons time

You cats are leaving out a scrappy Powder Springs Seminoles team that should be able to hang with most of the teams in this tournament. Only team in this that should easily dominate in early games are the EC Stallions.

Jaguar,
In the 14U division, the EC Titans played the EC Warriors and the EC Longhorns played the EC Shamrocks, so your theory is CR@P. Let's get off the conspiracy theory and enjoy the playing.

BTW,
I have no issue, whether it is EC, Team Gwinnett, Wills Park, or whoever, to not pair teams up that are from the same park, in pool play. There is nothing you can do about it in elimination play, but you can in pool play.

Who really wants to see teams from the same park play in pool play? If those teams wanted that, they could just scrimmage together without having to enter a tournament.

Batman-I heard that was wrong on the website. Rawlings lost. Sounds like a major brouhaha at ECB. Titans squeek by Team Rawlings 7-6. Disputed calls set off fireworks in the stands? Anyone know what the controversy(s) was(were)?

Batman, communist,
Still alive! Not pretty, but excellence usually rises to the top. Rawlings fans got nasty on a few calls.Rawlings early inning errors came back to bite them! Titans should coast now to the finals! Good luck to remaining teams.

It was not nearly as contraversial as was made to believe. The umpiring was not great, but Rawlings did not help themselves early in the game. Rawlings fought back at the end, but ended up one run short. It was the fight you expected from those two teams. The unfortunate thing is the winner had to play Team Gwinnett in the morning.

There were 9 EC teams out of 21. There is one pool that does not have an EC team in it, which is the one with Team Gwinnett in it. I agree that one of the pools that had 2 EC teams in it should have swapped with a team in that pool to spread out the EC teams. (If another park had 9 out of 21 teams in the tournament, I would argue they should be spread out as well since teams from the same park scrimmage and have availability to each other regularly and don't want to be paired together in pool play. Elim play is what it is.)

Last year in 13U, Triple Crown(Tony) had the Vipers and Astros in the same pool. It was a matchup everyone wanted to see, but it was during pool play. As a result, Tony took a beating because they were pooled together. So, I think he tries to seperate teams to get them in appropiate brackets i.e Gold vs. Silver. Take a look at the past tourney brackets--- teams have been pretty equal! If I was a #24 seed, I would rather play seed # 18 instead of the #1 seed.It gives the team a chance to play another game!

Alter the theory is not crap the easy way is to play titans against warrior and longhorns against shamrocks as those teams have no desire to end up in gold. Tell me when 2 of the 5 top EC teams are pooled together and i will buy that they are not kept apart on purpose

Jags,643,
No sense whatsoever, why pool top 2 or 3 top teams together? If so, 1 or 2 of the teams in that pool go to silver bracket. There should not be any complaints about triple crown pools.

Wow!! Let me be the first to say the Stallions are solid! Even without the much debated Astros additions they will be a team to be reckoned with. Pitching appears to be deep, entire lineup hits the ball, and very solid defense. Even though they beat the beloved Titans, congrats to the Stallions.

In order to allow for the Gold and Silver brackets to fall out like they should, there should never be a scenario where the EC Titans, EC Rawlings, EC Stallions, EC Longhorns, Milton Eagles, Team Gwinnett (either team), PC Vipers (if they are in it)end up in the same pool. There will be teams that float between the gold and silver depending on how they play in pool, but you don't want to have one of the above teams in the silver, because that changes the balance in the silver.

If you look at the brackets, the teams that were suited for the Silver, are down there (congrats to the PS Seminoles for a very quality win.) because they are playing at that level.

While you can always argue between the bottom 3 or 4 of the gold and the top 3 or 4 of the silver, the others all ended up where they belonged.

Kudos to TC for adding in the split of Gold and Silver. This gives teams an opportunity to seed out from pool play into their respective brackets.
