The Bay Bombers have been awarded a berth to Disney after losing to the Lynn Haven Longhorns in the Championship game in Orange Beach. We have excepted the berth and have only 9 players. We are looking to pick up two players to make the Disney trip and maybe even play some USSSA tournaments before the World Series. If your son has what it takes and you are interested in such an awsome experience please send me an email at baybombers2010@gmail.com. Thanks 10BB |

Why not just play with the kids that earned the berth?

Congrats 10BB! Other than our Bandits, there's no other team I'd rather have seen earn that birth. Those Longhorns must be something. I hope to see all the great teams down there again this year.
B-T-W, in my recent pop quiz about the big 3 N FLA teams where the 3rd was the Gulf Coast Lightning, a fellow poster called them a AAA team.
Are there 2 11U Gulf Coast Lightning teams down there? If so, the one I was referring to was the only team to beat the winner of TWO S-NIT's (ATL's and Alabama's), and held up quite well overall.

baseballbrad; the reason for us to pick up some players is simple. It costs around $10,000 to play at Disney( motels, entries and food) playing with only 9 players would be to risky if some one where to get hurt. The whole team would have to forfiet with only 8 players.

No just one GCL and I personally believe they are upper AAA to a mid level Major.

Then they played very very well this past weekend. Maybe they borrowed some players? They are now ranked 36th out of 172 Major teams Nationally. Their USSSA results show 5-3 vs 11U Majors and 1-1 vs 12U Majors. You are a tougher judge of than I.

I think GCL has earned some respect after this weekend. Pool play or not, they did beat the Lynn Haven team and held them to 2 runs in the process. I didn't see the game so I don't know what their pitcher looked like.
When we played GCL they pitched 2 kids that didn't throw hard at all and we only put up 6 runs. We popped a lot of balls up for easy outs. That was probably their plan. They were solid defensively and disciplined at the plate. |

Its not all its cracked up to be. They always get you one way or another with fees and other cost that are just about equal with any states income tax. LOL we are moving to Georgia on May 7th so I am coming from Florida and becoming a Georgia boy!! Maybe living in Georgia will improve my disposition LOL.
