Please stop picking us - it must be bad karma as we have yet to come close to living up to any of this hype LOL. Titans Coach.

CC Elite Astros...I think we saw them last year at a USSSA tourney. They are from Rex,GA and went 5-8 vs 10U AA teams and 0-3 vs higher classifications. If its the team I think it is, one of their best defenders is a girl, and she's a very good fielder. I think she played SS/1B. She had a nice swing too. They also had an unusually tall player, nearly 6 foot tall 10 year old.

Can anyone confirm?

Well all these teams will be new to the Green Eagles except for Mill Creek Red and I don't think they are to be taken lightly. Those Mill Creek Red boys can flat out hit the ball. It will be nice to play some non-GGBL teams for a change. I just hope we can hang with the Selects, East Cobb and 643 teams. If we can maybe you guys can encourage our team to make the hike up to Cobb county some time.

Looks like the major teams dominated the non-major teams today in this tourney. Jags and Titans allow 7 or less runs in there pool games vs 15+ for all the rest of the teams. What does this mean? Are the major teams just deeper with there pitching staffs?

What happened to the MC Red team? 3 runs scored in 2 games? Thats not going to win many games, especially when you are giving up 10+ per game. Anybody else see anything that surprised them?

Whitlow, I wish you guys and the MC Red team would travel to East Cobb more often, especially the Triple Crown tournaments. I think you guys have what it takes to compete with anyone in the state. The more you guys experience that level of play, the better you will become.

Gwinnettdad, MC Red just looked like they weren't awake yesterday. They are definitely capable of hanging with anyone they played yesterday. It was very cold and windy in the morning games. Not making excuses for anyone but it was really miserable.

Well BanditHawk I don't think we can hide anymore after today. Our boys were really on beating the Dirty Dawgs 15-0 and just losing to the 643 DP Jaguars 4-3 in the bottom of the 6th inning. Every thing just went right for us against the Dirty Dawgs and I know they are a very good team, but it was just our day against them. We went to this tournament just hoping to not get embarrassed against these teams and our boys stepped it up a notch. I hope the Cobb county and other major teams will respect us some after today. There are a lot of good baseball players and teams from Gwinnett. I was amazed we hung with the 643 DP Jaguars and even had a chance to win until the end. This was our best tournament so far this season and I'm proud of our boys.

Too bad we didn't win and get to go to the invitation only tournament because I was looking forward to meeting baseballpapa.

Good Luck to whomever wins!

Collins Hill is the "mystery Green team" I mentioned pre-season that will surprise.

I knew they would step out of the shadows this year after they filled a couple holes with quality players. A very nice showing in their first high-profile tourney.

I prefer "The Green Machine"
We just have a very good group of kids that play hard and don't give up even when down by 8 or more runs. We were lucky to be on this Sunday unlike at the Slugfest. I don't know what we would done had we won the tournament because I'm not sure we are ready for a big invitation only tournament. It would have been fun to get to see all the teams though. It was a fantastic game against the 643 Jaguars that was tight until the very end and gathered quite a crowd watching. We wish the 643 Jaguars the best of luck at the invite only tournament. Hopefully we will continue to play this good and make all our games just as exciting.

The Jags must be living right. 2nd tournament win in a row and living on the edge in many games, including early brackets. But they keep on winning.

Nice showing against the big boys by the Gwinnett teams.

I watched this game and it was good baseball. Collins Hill could of have won that game-but they had 2 errors and a baserunning error. I have been watching the pitcher for Collins Hill he came over from another ggbl team good ball player. Collins Hill also has a good catcher-he had a fanstic play- a barehanded catch. 643 were solid up and down good pitching staff, smart baserunning, they had only one error. Mill Creek did not look as solid as they did in the past-but every team will have a bad tourny. I would not count them out.

I think the double play either in the 5th/6th was what killed us with runners on 2nd and 3rd the 643 Jag SS dived and snagged the hard hit line drive and threw it to 2B for the double play. A few more inches would have scored at least one of the two runners on base.
We have some depth on our team. The pitcher who closed out this game only had to go three innings in the previous game and is pretty good as well.

BTW - I'm just an excited Dad not a member of the coaching staff that is happy for our team.
