It's another attempt by Lane Kiffin to draw attention to himself.
I am just perplexed. I have just not seen anyone explain what the Trojans think projects this kid out to be something they want 5 years from now. How do the Trojans hear about a 13 year old kid in Deleware without someone promoting him. Whether it is his parents, a coach that wants to get visibility for his program, or some area scout trying to make a name for himself, there has to be more to the story than what is being listed in the media. I am just very perplexed.
Now the hook is neither party is tied into the agreement. It is just publicity.
As a parent, I am not sure I would want that much publicity and pressure put on my 13 year old 7th grader.
I guess this is the next phase started by the Bryce Harper media circus. |

Wow, I'm not sure which intrigues me more, this story or the fact that I'm not at all suprised by something like this.
This poor kid is being setup to be the next coming of Todd Marinovich.
He's 13, he's loving this, what 13 year old wouldn't???? Unfortunately, he cant understand all the ramifications of this situation. Sadly, his parents either can't either or choose to ignore them.
On this very site I read quite a few negative comments about Bryce Harper as far as he's overrated, he's not that good, he'll never make it, etc. Those comments always come once someone or something is hyped to death. Sadly, when someone says, "he'll flame out", they almost root for that exact thing to happen because they want to be right, want to be the person to stand up and shout, " I told you so." Jealousy is definitely a monster and I would bet someone right now is already starting the slur campaign against this poor kid.
This kid may be good enough, may be the next Montana, Marino or Manning, but the more he's talked about the more "haters" will come out wanting to prove they were right in saying he'll never make it. These idiots are really going out on a limb predicting someone will never make it since only the smallest fraction of kids born make it anyway.

I think the thing that most people don't like is when things don't run their natural course of events. The Bryce Harper situation, and now this one, violate the normal course of events. |

He'll be lucky to end up at Delaware State before it's all over. That much pressure this early can only send an immature teenager's mind in one direction. |
