Someone needs to come up a with a new controversial type topic that will get us through the winter months. Maybe some sort of pool on how long the new teams will make it this time before disbanding or who would the Super Eleven 11 years old be. And if you choose the Super 11, how many would be Bandits, how many would be Cougars, Could a Chili Dog or two make it, would there be any East Cobbers, and Papa can promise that there should be a Red Sox or two. Will there be a Titan, a Jaguar, an Express.
Papa does not know the answer but I thought this might get your blood boiling again and kick start the forum.
Who are they, where will they come from. Remember the Super 11 team might have to play so we don't need 11 pitchers and no hitters or 11 hitters and no defense. Build a Super 11 team not a team of 11 Super players.
No names please just teams.

I guess we can't say names and I don't know all their numbers but here we go. In no particular order....
The top 4 Bandits (2 of them former Grip) 5. SS from Holly Springs 6. SS from Sandtown 7. C from Chili Dogs #34 8. #4 from the Chili Dogs plays SS and pitches 9.-10. 2 From Cougars not sure how to describe bc they play all different positions but both C and one is a great pitcher 11. Lefty pitcher from Jags
I haven't seen all the teams play but based on their 10U play I would say these are around the top 11. I am sure there are plenty of other great players that I haven't seen so no bashing my choices. |

Gwinnett: The player from Duluth, & 2 Bandits are super 11 for sure.
There's others on the verge of becoming noticed, but let's keep them quiet. I enjoy watching them sneak up on folks like these 3 have.

Bkball- The team you’re speaking of is called the Newark Eagles. The team is comprised of African American 11U boys from various teams such as the Sand Town Red sox’s, ECB stars, ECB Astros, ECB Titans, Georgia Jackets, Home Plate Chili Dogs and a couple more. All the boys are committed to these various teams. But, they will play a few 12U tournaments during the season to pay tribute to the old Negro League. They will play 12U to prevent any conflict with their eligibility for their 11U teams. It’s an assembly of some great baseball talent that will represent the old Negro League well.

That's the spirit HAWKS8 (Collins Hill Bill here).
Papa's steering the pot again.
I was actually thinking of putting together a Cobb/Gwinnett challenge but realized that other places play ball as well and did not want to be presumptuous. |

Hawks8, I think this is a product of the Gwinnett teams playing GGBL. This year, with you and Duluth (and maybe others) playing strictly tournament ball, your teams and players will become more recognized, especially if you guys participate in the bigger East Cobb tournaments. I promise you, bmoser knows who the better Gwinnett players are and how they stack up against the rest of the players in GA. |

I agree with most of your picks, maybe a little heavy on the 643 side. The Sandtown SS for sure and I like HP center fielder, great range. Really suprised noone has picked EC Titans fast kid. Can play anywhere well and might be the fastest kid I've seen in this age group. Great baseball IQ and power at the plate. I bet there is a player or 2 from Team GA that should be on here also, I just haven't seen them play enough to know who that is. How about a little help on that one Team GA.
Thanks for the new topic Papa!! |

I am in agreement with BMoser. I believe it is best to keep the Gwinnett boys a mystery. I am sure they will be found out soon enough. I think my thought on the players of high quality would be a list of players who could play major on any team and are not at this point. All teams have them. The boy who due to loyalty to his geographical area, chooses to stay close to home and not have the opportunity to play on one of the very few major teams around. I think we have all seen there are only a very few major teams in the Atlanta area, but there are boys all over, on probably every team that have the talent to play at that level. Those are the boys I see as hidden gems. Believe it or not, we have them in Gwinnett County, but we are not going to tell you who they are...:-) |

Wow, A lot more action than I thought but great action to say the least. You must all remember that Papa was pretty much a Gwinnett blaster when I first came on the post and said several times that if they were so good why were they not playing. I truly did not understand the restrictions these teams were facing over 1-1/2 years ago.
You must also remember that the Bandits head scout is Moser himself as we would most likely not have either of our ex-Grip teammates if not introduced to us by Mr. Moser.
Papa treats Mr. Moser like you guys treat E.F. Hutton. When he speaks I listen but I really do more than listen. I also find, watch, and recruit and so far Mr. Moser has done me right. |

I can also tell you that the Super 11 is a trick question. Some of you are good and some of you are better than good but none of you have the true ability to pick the Super 11 from our area because there are at least 30 kids that are deserving of being considered in the top 11. To prove my point I will stress that hardly ever does the Bandits lead off hitter get any mention but I have watched him enough to know that he should be on any Super 11 and not only the Georgia Super 11 but the Nations Super 11. This kid is a true player and is absoulutely without a doubt in my mind one of the best players in the nation. |

One last issue that I wanted to bring up. If this Super 11 could become a reality how do you guys feel it might work. Or do you even feel that it could work. Close your eyes and imagine how this team would stack up against the Florida and California teams that have found the way to make this concept work. We play them and hold our own with mostly single park talent. How would we compete combined.
I want to make one strong point. In the past decades both East Rome High School and West Rome High School fielded strong football teams with both winning multiple State Championships. People in Rome dreamed of the day when these powerhouses would combine and form one Super Football Team. All of us felt that once the 2 combined that it would be an unbeatable team and unstoppable juggernaut. Never happened as if I am not mistaken not one State Championship since the merger.
Would our Super 11 work out the same and what would be the things that should be done to make sure that it didn't |

I think my boy should be thought about for this Elite 11. He has won two Ga. State titles while playing for Ga. teams. We don't live that far from the Ga. border. |

Titan1: You make Papa's point even better than Papa. There are so many great kids out there that deserve to be Super 11 that it is almost impossible to choose the best 11. |

I like all these picks for Super 11 and can agree on all of them, lets not forget, big hitter for stars, lead off for Astros. Duluth Catcher/DH, Big Lefty Pitcher 1st baseman for Scorpions. 2 off the ECB Titans, 2 Pitchers for the Jags, I could name a couple more off 6-4-3, Lefty pitcher for GA Jackets who was with N. GA Storm,. Tall Chili Dogs kid, and lefty hitter righty thrower. Catcher for Holly Springs, SS for Holly Springs, 4 Arms off Bandits, SS off Bandits, Catcher for Bandits in the fall. Catcher for Kennesaw at 10U assume he is with Jags this season? Gwinnett has some and the one I expect to see turn some heads is the black kid that was with Parkview last fall, not even sure where he is now. Lets not forget the 2 or 3 from NYO. Sandy Springs has a couple of sleepers too. Cartersville must have a few, Warner Robbins, Augusta, West Ga off that Bandits team. I know McDonough has some 11U kids that played up last season so there will be plenty popping up in years to come. And I know I left off some more good ones. |

I don't guess there is away around this and this topic is inevitable. But these kids are 11u and these posts put all kinds of pressure on specific kids to perform. I guess I'm saying let's be very careful with this topic. While it starts out with good intentions, it inevitably leads to "my kid is better than yours" or "I saw that kid this weekend and he's not that great." The last thing we need is criticism of 11u players. |

Stinger is correct on this one. We don't debate players in these forums. The posts that have been posted make reference to players by team, positions, etc. that in the opinion of the poster have excelled. Posts that attempt to discredit that opinion or are negative will not be posted. Lets remain positive and just state our opinions and not attempt to debate someone else on theirs.
Thanks |

Bandit13 gets the prize for winning the pop quiz. Hebron is the correct answer. That was an expert level question.
All 7 hits center of ball to middle of bat. Just when I thought I knew all Gwinnett's best, another one pops up.
Guys, the boys we're seeing are only the tip of the iceberg. 2 Coaches that have been to the mountain top agreed with me that more than 1/2 of the boys who will make our local High School's team, we haven't seen yet.

If you want to make it work, don't let the parents get involved! And it should be only Ga players. |
