Just read usssa is going to announce 4 classifications next season. Does anyone know what the change will be? Also hopeing that maybe there will be some decent tournaments in south Georgia this year that might attract some of you Atlanta guys this year. We cant afford to drive to Atlanta every weekend.

Yes, a 4th classification will come out in USSSA this year with the re-classification report. Also, you will see an increase in South Ga. tournaments as we have some new directors on board that we we are excited about. Scott Carter and Tim Ash in Middle Ga. and Jeff Speed (came over from GS) in South Ga.

Is there a date set for the release of the 2010 Re-Classification Report?

Guys,
Isnt there already 4 classes: A,AA,AAA, Major. Any new class would be a 5th right? That would have to be Elite.

If they just look at teams who are still around and only look at Spring '09, we have: Bandits, Sandtown, Holly Springs, and 6-4-3.

I dont see the need for an elite class? Heck I dont see the need for an A class either. Most AA teams can compete at the AAA level and most AAA teams can compete at the Major level they may not win any tournaments but they can win some games.
With the economy the way it is and the fact there are so many really good teams in the Area of Cobb County, Alpharetta area, I can't see traveling over 30 minutes to play. The MLB only has 30 teams in it. We played 40 different teams last season.

Not sure about the younger ages (I could look, but haven't), but at 16u, there is no more major. Only A, AA, AAA and Elite. Don't know why they did that.
