Save the date -

With all of the talk about who's best, who's made the most improvement, let's find out. Kick off your 2010 season with the USTBA Feb Frost at Sandy Plains (Harrison Park). Last year, this tournament sold completely out so this year, we have made plans to expand to other fields if necessary.

If you are planning to get ready for the Triple Crown Spring Frost or the Forsyth Slugfest, this is a great warm-up event.

USTBA tournaments at Sandy Plains have received rave reviews from attendees as well run, well maintained fields, but mostly just great fun for all teams involved. Plus, they are much more economical with lower registration fees and no gate charge at the field. Plus, you can get some of the best Brunswick stew in the state.

Let's see if the 643 Jaguars (last year's champion was Kennesaw) can defend their title in this great event.

If you have any questions, you can email me at spwildcats@gmail.com

Too cold for baseball in Feb. How cold was it last year and what was the date when Kennesaw won the event.

Winning the big game and being the last team standing and being called Champion has a way of warming you up.

Last year was the same weekend so the date was Feb 22. The first two days last year were a little cold but nice. On Sunday, the temperature dropped but the sun was out so it wasn't too bad. When the sun started to go down (Championship Game), I must admit it got pretty cold. We lined the dugouts with plastic to keep the team wind out and put in propane heaters. But it was really only that one game that was bad.

Personally, I believe everyone wants to gear up for the Forsyth slugest which is two weeks later. The problem is that between the three tournaments:

- USTBA Feb Frost
- TC Spring Frost
- USSSA Forsyth Slugfest

one of these will be rained out. Last year it was the TC tournament that got canceled. So if you want a warm-up tournament before the slugfest, sign up for both USTBA and TC and you should be in good shape.

Is Ocee still an "allstar" team or have they moved to the world of travel ball full time?

I believe this is going to be a travel team, but made up of their All-Stars. Should be a AA-level team.

Do you have a 12U schedule or a website to find it. Went to their USTBA website and it says download flyer, page not found.

4. GA Jackets - Gold
5. GA Jackets - White
6. Holly Springs Express

We only have 2 spots left for the USTBA Feb Frost II on Feb 19 - 21 at Harrison Park in East Cobb. Our fields will accommodate 32 teams for 11u - 13u and we have 30 of those spots filled. So the next two teams from 11u, 12u or 13u to sign up take the last two spots.

11u Teams signed-up
1. 643 Jaguars
2. Duluth Wildcats
3. ECB Stars
4. GA Jackets - Gold
5. GA Jackets - White
6. Holly Springs Express
7. Homeplate Chilidogs - Lawson
8. Kennesaw Outlaws
9. Ocee Stars
10. Oregon Park Sharks
11. Oregon Park Storm

If you take my concession duty at Sandy Plains, we'd love to play baseball at your park. That sounds like much more fun!! I like it.

bball123, I like that Duluth pick. Do you know something the rest of us don't ?? My son had the privilege of playing with one of their current players when he was 8. Great kid and family. I hope you are right about them doing well.
