bbfan31, they did but it looked like both teams were experimenting doing pool play. Thay brought out their big guns in the brackets and they were very good.

I also think in bracket play ga select got run ruled by the team from Winston.

Congrats to the 11U Duluth Wildcats for winning the Georgia Force Thunder Invitational at Dobbs Creek Park in Cumming this past weekend.

8 teams played, and Duluth bested the Georgia Jackets 6-3 in the finals. North Gwinnett-Black and Georgia Select-Blue also reached the final 4.

In the 6-4-3 tourney, was Winston and 11-12U team from Carrollton who plays in Pony league?

No disrespect to the stars, and the 6 4 3 jags. They are a good team with great coaches, but lets give credit when credit is due. You may experiment with pitchers, but you don't experiment with your bats! Georgia Select only gave up 5 runs to the stars and 2 runs to the jags in 12 innings of play. Georgia Select put up a combined 18 runs on these guys. It also has to be said that both teams struggled with the Georgia Select pitching. So lets not make light of the talent that the stars and jags faced. I know the stars threw the big lefty from central dekalb and the big righty. The jags threw their big 5'7" guy as well. Maybe these are not the Studs you're speaking of, but these guys were good.

Yes, Georgia Select did get run ruled in 5 innings of play against Winston. They had 7 errors in the 1st inning and could not over come. I also believe Winston was a 12U team. Georgia Select also lost to the 12U 6 4 3 cougars as well. Again no disrespect only comparing apples to apples.

Please forgive some of my grammer and spelling. I did this on my phone, at work bored.

Great year coming

Here is my unbias 643 jaguar tournament review.

You can tell it is the fall. All teams were pretty sloppy on defense. There were a lot of walks and I mean a lot of walks. I watched the jaguars walk the bases loaded to begin the game against holly springs. They lost that game 9 to 8. I watched the stars walk, I think at least 8 against ga select, stars lost 11 to 5 and I will bet u the select did not get 4 hits. I saw one of the best defensive teams in the country (cougars) boot a bunch of balls against the jaguars, the jaguars won that game 12 to 8. I saw the 12u cougars give up 6 runs in the last inning and lose to the 11u cougar, it was ugly. Even more strange I saw two twelve year old teams playing down in a 11u tournament. I saw a ga select team look decent in pool play, but when they got in brackets look like they were overmatched.

Ok enough of that, let me tell u the positives.

Holly springs express...very well coached team. I think their coach gets the most out of his kids. Good pitching and a good fielding team. Needs more sticks and team speed but they can play with th best. If you give them gifts they will beat you, one dangerous team.
The smartest team.

Ga select ...the best base runnin team I have ever seen. They have great team speed. A lot of potenial, need a few more hitters and pitchers but they will still hurt some people because if they get on base, they will kill u ask the stars. I saw couple nice off speed pitchers. Their middle infield looked real solid. I think they are an academy. The only question is....was this their team or did they borrow some players from team georgia.
The best trained team.

Eastcobb Stars...Probably one of the best 1 thru 4 line ups around. They looked a little rusty but they showed some flashes. They have couple of kids that can just flat out swing the stick. What was really supprising to us was the potential there pitchers showed. I saw two of their kids with real good stuff. Power, speed they have it. With good coaching this could be a premier team.
The Most atheletic team.

643 Cougars, I still think in this group they are the class act. The pros always say you win championships with pitching and defense and that is how this elite team is built. Pretty much the same team from last year. They added three good players. They go extremely deep with pitching, excellent base running and of course the best coached. 11u team in the country. I expect them to keep excelling. I love their pofessionalism.
The best coached team.

And last but not least

643 Jaguars...they are a fiesty group. They have a nice and balance pitching staff and they go deep. They also have a lot of power. Their team speed is ok, but I think they got that it and it is a chip on their shoulders because they do not want to be condidered the second team at the academy. I feel that this is one of the most dangerous teams out there because of that chip. This team will knock off a lo of big teams this year, just ask their big brothers th cougars.
The most passionate team.

Th pundit interviewed parents from all teams and the cougars and stars have not really practice as a team at all. The jaguars, select and express have put some work in. I expect all teams to do better in th fall champoinship.

The fall state championship is coming soon I can't wait.
I think all these teams will be in the thick of things.

Gentlemen, as the pundit I have done my best to share with you what I saw with these teams.

Again all teams were rusty but I think in 5 months all these teams will make some noise.

I can't wait to some of these kids get older because some of them are in a class of their own. I think some of the best pitchers, hitters and middle infielders and catchers in the state were at the tournamet last weekend. All showed a little rust.

Until next time.

It sounds like the Stars are in a league of their own. I am anxious to see them play in the Triple Crown. What was their record in the 643 tourney?

yes baseball, the stars only showed flashes of being a good team. I think the team to watch this weekend is team georgia. I think they have as much talent as any body. I think the stars will be a good little team as they gel. The beauty of this forum we get to speculate but it all plays out on the field.

This weekend is going to be fun.
