Only 10. :)
Well, if it's a combination of those two teams, they should be pretty good. |

EC Astros- Will be stronger than last year. They are in a league of their own. Look for them to defend their Elite world series title.
Team Gwinnett- Added a lot of top players. Look for them compete at the national level.
EC Stallions- Roster looks very strong with LOTS of pitching.
EC Titans- A lot of the stronger players from AAA and low major teams. Good coaching. It will be interesting to see how they shape up against the top 5 in the state.
EC Combat- The team looks like they have a little less talent than last year. Good coaching.
PC Vipers- Lost best two players to Astros. Hard to tell what will happen with them.
EC Braves- Stronger than last year. It'll be interesting to see how they do against major teams.
EC Longhorns- Look very good on paper. A combination of last years Astros, Longhorns, and Hobgood Heat. One player from SW Express.
Bulldogs- Lost one to Astros, one to Titans, and a couple more to school ball. Weaker than last year. |

13udad1234, Given where we are, that is probably as good an assessment as any other overview.
Who all did Team Gwinnett get? |

looks to me that Combat is stronger than last year. They certainly have a lot more pitching. They have 5 legit arms that throw 75-80+. They certainly didnt have that last year. |

EC Braves lost best two players to the Titans I think. Reloaded with players from the Marietta Mets and one from the Longhorns in addition to a few others. It will be interesting to see if they can compete at a major level. They went 1-2 against major USSSA last year and 5-3 against AAA. Ec Chargers will also compete at a major level this year with a 1-7 record at the AAA level. They claim to have a much stronger team this year too. No question there are some interesting spins being put out there. |

Granny your information is not correct. Braves did not lose their best 2 players to anyone. Their best kids stayed on the team. and to everyone out there, what teams did last year means absolutely nothing. There are so many new faces on each team and alot of them are going to be 3 inches taller than they were last year. SO LETS STOP COMPARING THIS PAST SPRING TO NEXT YEAR. |

loveforthegame25- Again interesting spin. What teams have done in the past DOES tell alot about a team and its coaching. Lets just see how the boys do and then we can revisist this topic. Perhaps this time next year? |

GAME: youre right on the ball.
People are acting obsessed about who is on what team what team will win what team will lose and I almost cant beleive it !
The boys are 14 they are hopefully having fun but it doesnt sound like anyone else is , just worried about getting ahead of the next team or family.
Newsflash from an old guy : half of the kids wont play JV or varsity baseball if that many and maybe none will ever make a red penny playing the game so how about learn the lessons of life and sports and enjoy the experience not treat it like life or death , seriously
I wish the best to all |

coachdan, It is funny all the frenzy that this time of the year offers. I guess it is the fact that the entire next season, and all it's possibilites, lay ahead of everyone. (It is kind of like how the Chicago Cubs fans feel each spring after they did not make the playoffs the season before.)
Teams have generally improved and want to feel they have put themselves in a better position than the other teams. While parents of some players have improved their position and want to be excited about the new team and how much better a situation it is than last year. Everyone looks at what things will be if ALL goes perfectly and they will continue to do that until they start playing and see what the team will most likely play like.
It is in all good fun and needs to be kept in mind, which is what I believe you were getting at.
It's ok for the boys to be excited about the new season. We should feel that way with them. |

Wow! This is great, gotta love this time of the year. In talking with most of the boys on these teams, they are having fun and are excited about the "newness" and possibilities of this next season. Some have changed teams and are getting to play with those they've always played against. And for some, just the opposite. But the boys themselves are having fun......at least those that I have talked with.
But this debate is fun with the differing opinions and is what makes this part of the season fun for the parents, or at least those that post here. Baseball was always fun to me as a kid, but I always had the kid perspective. Now that I'm a parent, I have a different perspective and baseball is still fun. What makes it fun for me are these forums and the fact that my kids are having fun and like baseball. Regardless if they ever go on to play varsity or anything else, we would have shared some quality time while going through one of life's lessons.......we don't all think the same way about the same thing.

I share your same sentiment LifeGuard - well said. Forums are just that....opinions. Sure there will always be some feather ruffling, etc. but the viewing public has a choice to either read and/or participate or simply do not partake. The mystery of what's to come always adds to the excitement and it's fun to see all the differing views! For the most part, all of our teams are built somewhat differently now (and that can happen with a change of just two to three players) and that also adds to the excitement to watch, witness and explore all the newness and how they gel, etc. Personally, I cannot wait! I also enjoy reading all the different takes on the teams. Noone has that crystal ball - simply coahces and parents having fun I think. This time of year is like Fantasy league. |

Let me see if I can shed some light on a couple of areas -
Team Gwinnett - They will indeed have 2 teams. One will be called Team Gwinnett Mizuno and the other yet to be named. Supposedly, they will be competitively close, although I believe that the Mizuno team may have 1-2 stronger pitchers. I do know that there is already a belief that this second team will be very strong, maybe as good as the Mizuno team but that will obviusly pan out in the Spring. I believe that there were 40+ kids that tried out and I would say 10 probably shouldn't have been there and the rest were major quality so they, I am told, were able to stack them both solid. The Fall team is 12-13 players and a mixed bag between what will be the 2 teams. Triplecrown is holding a tournament this weekend at East Cobb that will have EC Combat, Team Gwinnett, EC Titans, Warhawks and others. Not the full Spring squads because of football but maybe a good litmus test.
Astros - will probably be the best again. Looking at their lineup, there isn't any reason for me not to believe so. Although I did hear that one of the BB kids that they added didn't throw much at tryouts because of a sore arm. They are too deep to miss him should that become an issue. The 13u squad did break up but the stronger players remain, and they added arguably one of the best pitchers/catchers in the country. Maybe 2-3 or more kids throwing int the 80-85 range now...wow.
Titans - Insiide information is that they will be strong, but maybe not the superior 2nd team like everyone believs. My prediction is that Combat, Titans 2nd tier, then Longhorns and the rest. Again, we will have to wait and see. They dilute heavily after the Astros so you never know whats left and how competitive they will be. The North Georgia Bombers coach from a couple of years back has the team and this guy knows how to coach.
Warhawks are going to be a wild card. They do have some kids from Outlaws baseball I hear, but they had some issues in the spring playing upper tier AAA. It will be a fun team to watch though.
Gwinnett County is putting out some solid players that are not going over to ECB. This will be a fun season to watch. |

6-4-3, I would say at EC, from a pitching persepective, after the Astros the Stallions have the most depth. They picked up several really good arms to go with what they had.
It should be a great group of competition within the 14U group this year, inside and outside of EC. |

Mammabee I think the EC team slots look a good bit different than what you threw out there.
1. EC Astros (easily the best) 2. EC Stallions (very strong) 3. EC Combat (a solid and dangerous team that won't get blown out) 4. EC Titans (great coaching for this team when its inflated roster is reduced) 5. EC Longhorns (good starters, weak bench) 6. EC Chargers (on the rise) 7. EC Braves (need to consistently play major level competition to see what they can do) 8. EC Warriors (coach is suited for 14u - they may sneak up on you) 9. EC Shamrocks 10. EC Cobras |

Teddy41 -
EC titans - average at best. Lost both pool games and had to play first round last night. They will face the 1 seed Georgia Outlaws who won 10-0 and 19-3 in pool play.
Warhawks - look strong and 3 seed. They obviously made a few phone calls and stacked their team solid for this tourney. Pitching is a ?? for Sunday. Will probably face Team Gwinnett in the semis
Team Gwinnett also strong. Used back of the end rotation pitchers and still have good ones in reserve for bracket play. Outscored opponents 20-6.
On a side note, I was impressed with the 13u Roadrunners. They gave Team Gwinnett a game for a while and beat the Clermont As. They are big and can flat out hit the baseball.
