the question is who is going to be around and major changes on some teams this upcoming year. Hard to say who is 2-5.

My opinion after hearing what alot of teams are doing, next year there are going to be more stronger teams than this year. Most EC teams are going to be strong, BullDog (Tim will have a competitive team no matter what), PC (depending on who stays, Team Gwinnett will be strong again, and so on.

That's just the East Cobb teams. It's all guesswork but I'll say top 5 preseason picks are

1. EC Astros
2. Team Gwinnett
3. PC Vipers
4. Bulldog Baseball
5. EC Stallions

There will be plenty of good teams out of many parks, that much I'm sure of.

13udad you only list ECB teams. Team Gwinnett will be strong again. Vipers are losing a couple....but its a big couple of players. Heard one to the Astros and one to basketball. Top 2 pitchers one of who is catcher? Not sure who else they lose. Be interesting to see who shows up at ECB clinic. Sounds like Bulldogs are losing 2 top pitchers to Astros if rumors are correct. Hard to replace those arms.

Sounds like Stallions, Titans, Express (maybe they go by Combat again next year?) and Longhorns have alot of talent. It will be a dog fight between those teams for the 2-5 slots at ECB.

Even the bottom ECB 5 of Warriors, Braves, Chargers, Shamrocks and Cobras will have lots of talent and while maybe not in the first 5 class will be still tough outs on any given day.

baseballnation both PC Vipers and Bulldog Baseball lost too many players - they may not have a team next year. EC Astros picked up top players from the Vipers and Bulldogs. The will be hard to beat next year. The EC Titans will be very good. Good coaches and a lot of talent.

Agree on Astros pickups, that's why it is easy to say they ought to be #1. Don't know much about who's left with either PCV or BB so point taken. All of EC teams after Astros should be good but not sure any one of them this early at least is a clear leader.

its always funny to hear all the rumors this time of year. heard seminoles picked up a few new faces... 2 from bulldogs. It will be interesting to see what is the shakeout from the annual Astro/ Titan over stock.. 20-25 per team in the fall and then come Spring 7-10 kids get whacked per team. Do the parents understand this? Yikes.

Bigdog I agree its funny to hear the rumors. I was at ECB this weekend. You don't know who to trust, depend on who you talk too LOL. It comes from coaches and parents.

Does this age group not lose a lot of kids to HS teams. By reading this board it seems like most feel this age group will be stronger in 2010. Where are all of the kids coming from?

My understanding is that one of the teams will be a little stronger than the other one. I am hearing that they will have two teams A & B team.

Hello , is this a serious discussion about next years teams that apparently aren't even formed yet

If yes is it confined so far to coaches that are lobbying and positioning or is it from parents and players

Actually, most of the kids on one team are originally from the north gwinnett 2008 12u team. The kids on the other team are mostly from the buford 2008 12u travel team. The new additions to team gwinnett are split evenly between the two teams.

Who did the Bulldogs lose to the Titans?......not so.....The Bulldogs lost heavy to school ball for 2010. Only one player left for another team up front. They had 4 or 5 that received a mandate from their high school coach(s). This post is very premature. There are so many teams that are still nailing down those last couple of spots....Plus many of these teams are not going to have the services of some of their players for the entire month of June.....and even some may get called up to varsity and report in late.

I have no idea how you even begin to rank past the first spot. There are too many things in play to even begin to figure out. The Astros have all the 13U National Championship players moving up (minus one that returned to FLA) and are adding 2 or 3 other top 13U players which will make them even stronger than last year. They will play mostly 15U and 16U, though.

That leaves a lot of question about how the 14U ranks fall out. Lots of opportunities for many other teams, both inside and outside of EC.

BULLDOGBBT, they are probably referring to the player that went from Hobgood to Bulldog at the end of the year.

And now there is an ECB Combat on the ECB Web Site. So now I count 11.

Astros, Titans, Stallions, Express, Longhorns, Combat, Braves, Chargers, Cobras, Warriors and Shamrocks.

Wow. Where are they all going to practice?
