I am curious about the way ECB does tryouts and the formation of teams for this age group. From what I have learned about the way it is done for the 13 and above is the Top team being the Astros basically gets first pick and they can actually pick a kid that had been predetermined by another coach and possibly a family that the kid was going to be on a different ECB team. This giving the Astros the ability to make sure they have the true #1 ECB team. This being the case is there a disgnated team at the 11U age group that has been tapped the #1 team and if so do they have the authority to make such selections as I have discribed? |

Rocky, it is very strange whats going on at east cobb, rumor has it that they are having an eleven year old astros team but it is not the same format for the other astros teams, they did not have access to pick the best players at the tryouts. I think most of the players are the tigers of last year and rumor is they lost the big pitcher. If that is the case and considering how all the other teams have upgraded, I see a interesting season for them.
Scorpions, Stars and Titans have put together some tough teams. |

Guys, From Papa has been hearing we had all better get a tight hold on something. If you trust all of the posts you would think that all of the teams have gotten better and from what I have seen it appears the posts are right. Cougars are betters, Stars are better, Titans are better and all the other teams are better. They are older, faster, smarter, throw harder, hit farther and better coached. What this tells Papa is that our boys will only get closer and closer to being prepared for what their future in this great sport holds for them. Thanks Coaches, Sponsors, and Parents and even to you other Papa's out there for giving these kids this great opportunity. |

Did I miss the answer to the question that was asked. Is the East Cobb 11U program fielding a 11U team that will be called the East Cobb Astros. If they are who will coach this team and will the players come from any of last years East Cobb teams.
Read my Lips: Does the East Cobb Astros have a team in the 11U division for this coming spring and summer seasons.
Type slowly as Papa is getting old and it appears from the post above that you are speaking of rumors or things that you might have heard. It has been made clear by East Cobb that the Astro name shouldn't be used by teams under 13U. |

Papa, There is a team trying to use the Astros name even after being told not to,so the name thing is still unclear. It in no way is an Astros team as you know them. It is some of the leftovers from the Tigers and some other kids from the tryouts. The top teams are Scorpions, Stars, and Titans. We'll let time tell us who the top dog will be. |

Will the 11U Astros be playing out of the East Cobb Complex or should we consider them a Renegade East Cobb Team that will not be sanctioned by the Park. It sounds like the inmates are running the asylum and this is confusing Papa. |

Best as I can determine (one of these I am sure about): Bulldogs = Titans Luck = Luck Tigers + some new kids = Astros (head coach Mike Skoal) Longhorns + Tigers + 3 from the Jags + some good pickups = Stars Scorpions + some Dodgers = Scorpions Jim, If I can have a "Banditesque" season...I will definatelly keep my team name!

Will someone please get control of this East Cobb program and give these kids a team name. This is giving Papa a headache. All this add this to that and you get this is killing me. I think that there might be a method to this madness. Y'all think that if you confuse me with all these different names that we won't show up. I promise you in the words of my hero "Arnold the Terminator" that " WE WILL BE BACK NO MATTER WHAT YOUR NAME IS." |

Mike Skole is an excellent coach. I would not take this team lightly.

jscoda: Rest comfortable tonight knowing that after playing down in the Atlanta area for 6 years now that Papa does not take anybody lightly but especially Papa does not take any East Cobb team lightly.
I never predict games but I will predict that this should be an awesome year for 11U youth baseball in the Atlanta, Georgia area. |

I think what we will see next year will be like what we saw this season, Bandits will dominate, but I think they will lose a game or two to a couple of Georgia teams.
1. Bandits 2. Sandtown Red Sox 3. 6-4-3-DP 4. NYO-hope they get in tournament eariler this season 5. Kennesaw 6-4-3 Jags 6. ECB Scorpians 7. ECB team to be named later 8. Holly Springs 9. Home Plate Chili 10.Ga Jackets 11.Gwinnett County Team |
