The 13u Georgia Titans want to thank all the participants of the very successful 1st Annual Rickey Weems Memorial held at Clarkdale Park this past weekend. We fought tough field conditions all weekend because of heavy rains Thurs. and Friday, but all coaches and teams were very patient with us throughtout the tournament.
The East Cobb Astros were our champions after a hard fought battle with the East Cobb Hurricanes. The final score ,15-7, didn't indicate what a great game it was. The Elite Red Sox were our third place team after having a great weekend.
Thanks again to all teams that participated in raising a total of $2,650 dollars for the Weems family. That includes a wonderful gesture by Clarkdale Park offering a scholarship for Ricky Jr. to play ball at the park, The Trophy Case in Powder Springs offering a $50 donation as well as a $25 donation from the Douglas County Chambser of Commerce.
