Brackets are looks to be a brutal road for my Generals. Sending out to message to HShuler to take it easy on us. LOL. Good Luck to all and look forward to watching some good baseball this week/weekend.

There are two games scheduled on the same field at the same time. Field 4 has a 10U game scheduled at 7 PM and a 12U game scheduled at 7 PM on Wednesday. Just trying to get the word out now so there are no surprises late tonight or tomorrow.

Elite not that bad of a draw, only playing 2 of the elite 32 qualifiers. This state tournament is as tough as any Super NIT. Good luck gamer. We are just hoping that Lou Holtz and Norton take it easy on our little AAA team.

Pool play match ups for USSSA State tourney (and any other UTrip tourney) is done strictly off UTrip points, 1/2 plays 19/20, 3/4 plays 17/18 and down the list. I assume you mean your opponents and not the times of your games, right Gamer?

It will be a shame that one of these teams (SF Giants, EC Astros, Gamers) might not make it to the Championship bracket.

After checking over the pool play games, I was wondering what the baseball Gods have in store for the weekend. Must be a showdown between the SP Titans and the Braves in the Ship. Pool play without these 2 is unheard of around here and can someone explain why the Buzz and the Generals couldn't have played their pool play game up North? Not sure if the Dallas Tigers can keep up the roll from the past weekend but with the Titans and the Buzz in pool play...tough draw.

With that said, I see....

1) Stros...impressive this past weekend and no reason to belive they can't/won't do it again.
2) Titans...Been with them this far and really believe they will make me look good again. Time for the "win won for Holtz" pep talk HS!
3) Braves...had a rare Sunday afternoon off and boys should be rested. Nice pool play draw.
4) Homeplate...been in the mix all year and also good pool draw.

Honorable Mention:

Buzz and the
Gades making it close, but not being able to capitalize on the momentum from the Red Sox Rumble ship.

Early predictions for the Orange Beach NIT....Atlanta BlueJays time for the Souuuuuuuuuuuuuuuth Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide to represent. Safe travels to the Blue Jays. Anyone know what happened to the Raiders? Did they use all they had last weekend?

Would love to be in the mix this weekend, but the stars couldn't align for us.

Good luck to all.

I know how the games are set up, it was merely a lighthearted joke. It does suck that one of those three teams will not get in though. Personally not how I would set up a State Championship, but it is what it is and we will come play hard and see what happens. Good luck to all.

Dear Gamers RWB 10U,

You would have gotten a better pool schedule if you would not have beaten the SP Titans last Sunday morning. They are my favorite team in the whole wide world, so please be mindful of this fact in the future.

Very kind regards,
HS (Special Assistant to USSSA State Tourney Pool Schedule Guy)

Hobnailboot,

I think you forgot those boys from the Southside "Elite Gamers". I saw them play Sig Park on Sunday and they looked great.

I think Holtzie said it best LW a team from the great state of GA will win.

Good Luck to all this weekend.

It's been a great season!!!

Gamers,

We have talked (privately) about your pool draw so you know that I'm just messing with you.

Hobby,

I am going to "guarantee" that a Georgia team wins it this week too.

CB,

Go easy on those Reds tonight. Didn't forget the Gamers. Played great last weekend, but this weekend I just didn't see it in the cards. I have to admit that it was hard for me not to put the Buzz in the final 4 also, but just not sure what they have.

HS...after I got the last email from TC Sunday night, I sat there in amazement that your prediction was spot on. If you go 2 for 2 this weekend, I will have to add you to my list of consultants!!!LOL.

Hobby,

You should know that I also picking a team from GA to win in Orande Beach. If you look at the list of teams and use the process of elimination, you can figure it out pretty easily...lol!

CB,

C'mon Man! You can't just give us one out of your final four. What about the other three?

Beagles,

I am still not drinking the Kool Aid.:-)

I'll stand by what I said in the "AAA" topic - it's a big jump from AAA to Majors this year. The majority of the pool games have pitted AAA teams against Majors, and the AAA teams (my son's included) are 0-9, with an average differential of nearly 8 runs per game. There's nothing to be ashamed of - the Major teams are just flat-out much better, and it's just a testament to the work the kids and coaches from these teams have put in. It's impressive. Can't wait to see the top teams start squaring off against each other.

Baldy87,

I think most AAA Teams are 1-2 Pitchers away from being a major but also if you look at the amount of games and the competition they play every week I think helps. Hitting comes and goes but defense and pitching has to be constant. I watched a couple AAA teams play the past 2 days and they were 1 out away from getting of a bad inning and just a routine pop up or ground ball that should have been an out extended the inning and sometimes thats all you need. I really hope you guys finish the weekend strong. Great group of kids, parents and coaches.

Baldy

It's one thing to compete against Major teams but because of seeding the AAA teams had to play the best Major teams in pool. It's like stepping in the ring against Tyson or Holyfield your 1st pro fight. These AAA teams can compete with some Majors but very difficult to stay on the field with the "Elite" ones.
CB said it right. It's the one or two errors that make the difference. Its my opinion that competitive 10yr olds get better by seeing/playing others their age that do it right consistently. Hats off to the AAA teams that stepped up to the challenge this weekend.
