The 9U AAU Spring Nationals were played April 20-22 at the brand new All Tournament Players Park in Cobb County. The facility is awesome and the games were the best 9U baseball you could expect. The Kennesaw Xtreme beat the East Cobb Longhorns in the bottom of the 6th with two outs to pull out the National Championship. In the consolation game the Wills Park Redhawks beat the Home Plate Chili Dogs to claim third place.
An award ceremony was held and all players from the teams finishing first through fourth were awarded Gold, Silver, Bronze or Copper AAU National Championship medals respectively. Team trophies were awarded for first through fourth. The players from the Championship team were also measured for their National Championship rings and the park gave each of them a bag tag and Tournament Champions t-shirt.
It was a great weekend of baseball with many close games, super plays and sportsmanship displayed by all. Congratulations and thanks to all of the players, coaches, parents and facility staff that made this a great tournament. |
