sorry boys, been busy with work and haven't been able to make the big contribution to the board as usual. here is who I think wins each pool.
A - Braves B - Astros C - CC Bulldogs D - FL Pokers E - Tampa Threshers F - Dirtbags G - Stealth H - Alpha Titans I - Rays J - UBC Venom K - TPSA L - Jax Blue Claws
Not a big woodbat fan but usually scores are lower and teams that can play defense and manufacture runs will win, got to go with the host team as the favorites. Watchout for the dirbags tho, they won't have the big boy with them but they are still very good.
same could be said of many other teams on the list as several didn't win their pool and a few didn't even advance to gold bracket.

What a great tournament! Looks like the Stealth now have the target on their back. The organizers did not do their team any favors with the tough pool they put themselves thru. Heard there were some big bombs hit with the wood! Looks as if all states were represented GA, TN, AL, SC, FL. It is too bad Team Florida could not have made the trip with the wood bats in hand? |

Hello baseball fans...just wanted to say that this was my son's 1st trip to the Battle of the South. He came as a guest player of the 12U Dirtbags from NC. I am a BB tournament director in NC and I know what it takes to put on a tournament and believe me the gate fees were very fair for this big of tournament, not only # of 12U teams but the quality of the teams involved. I heard a few comments about no "week end passes" if you think about it they would've come better by selling them because only 8 teams come back on Monday so they saved allot of fans a little there. The teams expect the best umps and I have to compliment the tournament organizer on the umpiring. All of our games we well umpped ( not perfect but if you expect perfection your fooling yourself) The facilities were top notch. I got to see some of the best players on the east coast and some I've heard about and they lived up to the "Billing". Every game seemed to be a dog fight and to me that's what BB is all about....when you can drive 5 hours home after a great week end of baseball and be content with where your team finished and the way they fought tooth and nail, it's gotta be a good thing...and that's in large part dew to the tournament Director(s) and staff. Our team stayed at the Hotel with the TPSA team and I think they meshed well. I want to tip my hat to the boys and coaches of the TPSA team, they played the game the way it should be played and the Parents were also quality and carried themselves well. I had several great conversations with some of the parents at the hotel. I told some of the parents that I hoped we meet in the semi-finals...I guess the old sayings true "be careful what you wish for" . I don't know who was in charge but I know you'll be reading this so I just want to say thank you for a well run tournament and I know you had to put a ton of effort into....Great tournament! |

I know CCB was missing a key player due to a sudden illness. Headed back up that way this weekend for the TC tourney to try and get a little redemption. |
