Hobgood-thanks for the kudos on my top 9, put a lot of effort into that and was very objective. It will be very interesting this weekend for the big boys @Boneyard. I still go w/ Lou Holtz and his gang (Signature Park-please Shuler no sand bagging needed, I could write your post in advance). Not really sure why everyone reads so much into Steel Wills top 10 if his kid doesn't even play @10U, obviously just a dads opinion.

I was hoping to see the Stros in this tourney but heard they are In the Javy Lopez tourney, good experience, wonder about the competition for them though. wood bats could help neutralize them a little, although their D and pitching will come thru.

Hobnail-not sure home field is that big of a deal @10U baseball; although WFDD is a good team, they have struggled this year and are 3-5 vs the Top 9. That being said, I go back to my comment that anyone can win this tourney.

CB...man that's funny...my pole is more exclusive than the AP tho...i only put one out once or twice a year...hahahaha

Seriously...good luck to you and the ecb crew this weekend. When you all finish on top, i'll definitely be the 1st to give y'all a bow....it aint easy navigating the 10u abundance of talent that out there for sure.

Okay, I'll "bite". Thanks to all for all the "props" on this thread and the other one. All I want at this point is a schedule! HA HA. I get it though, A LOT of requests, only 1 field = NIGHTMARE for those trying to make everyone happy.
We just want to play. Our boys, too, have worked as hard as any 10 yr olds should be asked to. I believe that "our time" is coming,...SOON. It may, or may not, be this weekend, but when it does come.............LOOOK OUT! I wish all the teams the best of luck this weekend. I feel honored that my team gets the priviledge to get on the field with any of these great teams. "GoBlue", you are right: playing teams of this caliber, win or lose, only makes every kid better. It IS all about the KIDS.

We'll see how it goes, but I know my kids are as prepared as they can be.

Bob Balker....have you seen the WFDD field? It's a top notch facility and you can feel the homefield advantage everytime you drive by man. I believe they have to reel mow it twice daily and use Ed Mangan as a consultant on the side it is so nice!

Hobnail-I've seen the field, it's very nice but so are all the parks in Forsyth County, we saw that @ Slugfest. It better be nice since it looks like that's the only field they are using for the entire tourney, other than the softball field on Friday night. That 6pm pool game goes on @ 630 minimum, maybe later, hope there is no bracket on Sat night. Maybe they are using the softball field on Sunday, that would be a great idea or better yet isn't there a nice park next to their field.

Balker, yes we will be using the softball field Sunday morning as well. As far as Midway Park, it is being used for another tournament and we are not able to play there. We have done this format for the last 3 years and it has worked well as long as the weather is on our side. Loking forward to it!

Bob Balker, (great handle by the way...I lol'd) If Friday's first pool game at 6:00 will start late, then what does that say for Sunday nights championship game scheduled for 8:00PM? There sure will be some TIRED parents and 4th/5th graders come Monday morning! Are there other local tournaments eating Forsyth County field space this weekend??

Hey Guys

With 1:40 minutes games, and games scheduled every 2 hours we should be fine with keeping on schedule.. plus I am sure SP Titans will run rule everyone in the 3rd inning so we will make up time there...LOL... Had to join in the on fun! :)
Also, yes there is an 8:00 Saturday night bracket game, however the winner of that game does not have to play again until 2PM on Sunday so they should be able to get plenty of rest. Also, looks like great weather this weekend!!!!! Good luck to all

Balker....I'm just messing with you man. Forsyth has some of the best parks I have ever seen. The pool play games have some incredible matchups and no doubt WF will do a great job running this tournament. If the Stros were in this, this could possibly be touted as the best field of teams in any tournament so far this year.

Looking forward to it.

Big Daddy, yes, there is another tournament in Cumming that has 47 teams ages 8-14. That has limited us a ton but we should be ok.

It's been pretty quiet on here the last day or so.

Will, did you tick everyone off? BTW, I heard that you are in negotiations with ESPN to have your own 10U Travel Baseball Show...BCS style. :-)

HS....was thinking the same thing man. It feels like the quiet week before national signing day for football recruiting. Think most teams are trying to figure out a strategy to keep you guys from run ruling everyone!!!!

Should be a lot of fun. BTW...can anyone tell me how a hamburger joint can go out of business right beside a baseball field and the Midway complex? What is up with that?

CB,

I don't think Will uses the Harris Poll or Computer Rankings in his calculations.

Hob,

Run rule? In the spirit of Monday Night Countdown..."C'mon Man!"

Yes, we are all still mourning the loss of sweet tater fries!! Fortunately you will still have Pepperoni's, Smokejack BBQ, and there is a great coffee shop at the Warehouse for the early crew. There is also the lovely ballpark franks and burgers just below our field at Midway concessions. It is truly shaping up to be a great weekend and I thank you all for the support!

Gotta go with undeniable favorite, the sure bet, can't lose, no-way no-how, bet-the-farm, throw in all the chips:

EAST COBB BRAVES

Good luck everybody. I'll take some time and get by and ACTUALLY see a game or two if I can so I won't have to rely on "hear say" according to my friend CB.
