Gotta go with Longhorns from Fla as they are seasoned and have great coaching. Heck our AAA team which is really a AA team beat TPX when they pitched their aces. Do not know enough about the Ga teams. |

That logic makes no sense. TPX beat the Longhorns in Lake City!

Ahhhh that is so sweet. Logic is sound. Longhorns are improving. Do not take it so seriously. And yes we did:

Thanks for the reminder. We knocked you out of the tourney. It is ok I know the arguement that that was not your A squad but our rotation was on fire.

Just my opinion but there are some parents and or coaches from a particular team that hate to be left out like a kid last picked on the playground. The ironic thing is this is youth baseball and who knows who will pull it out or show up for this weekend. The beauty of it is that the players will leave it on the field of play win or lose. Let's get real people. |

Go Claws! Have yourselves a tourney. Stay focused and represent.

Returning from coaching 13u yesterday now allow me take a stab at this tourney. Tournament will come down to coach planning with the players to get it done. If correct this type of format will leave teams no where to hide. Good competition throughout and equal match ups. Good pitching will have to be used early to stay in contention.
If it comes down to coaching I have to give edge to Astros staff and Blue Claw staff. They both have the big game upper level 13u & beyond experience and some with former MLBers with the number of coaches needed to take over control. This was a toss up with the Southern Longhorns when looking at Florida teams.
Note to all on blog and TPX and RBO8: Do not take personal just positive non-biased slant on the upcoming games.

Maybe they are just sick of reading the posts that attack them. Lots of people on this board need to get real and get over their ill feelings towards a certain coach or team. |

I can only speak to what I see on this topic. There has been no attacking going on just fans picking thier team or the team they want or think will win. There is a contingent that seem to take offense to this. It is the competitve nature of parents coming forth. Take it for what it is worth and be happy that you have children that are healthy and can put on a show for you all. I do know your coach despite being in a different age group and to be frank much of it stems from him. Just my $0.02.

QUICK HIT REPORTS 8:30 GAMES
Staff writer JL East Cobb Astros drop one to Jacksonville Blueclaws Navy 5 - 6 Great ballgame with many turns and twists. Both teams trying to conserve pitching led to a close game. Blue Claws willed themselves out the victory and look to have come together as a team since the departure of one player and an additional pick up that contributed nicely on the mound. Both teams evenly matched and Astros had their chances but did not capitalize.
==========
Sent by staff writer RK Georgia Guns over North Gwinnett Bulldogs Red 10 - 2 The Georgia Guns came out with guns blazin' as the home AAA team and last minute addition to the tournament. Strong bats and defense and great pitching. Look to fit into the Major landscape of the State. Could be the Cinderella of this weekend.

QUICK HIT REPORTS 10:30 GAMES
Staff writer JL Southern Longhorns beat East Cobb Select Bulldogs 8 - 0 Longhorns look strong. Take early lead in the Florida side of the pool race, neck and neck with the GA Guns. Strong shutout victory for a team that is hitting on all cylinders. Pitching was on fire and only had to spend four innings to save a bit for later.

QUICK HIT REPORTS
Staff writer RK Teám TPX drops one to RBA Titans 0 - 4 RBA dominated all aspects of the game. TPX pitchers did pitched well but had zero run support. TPXs usual live bats were for the most part silenced and the needed clutch hits never materialized. RBA will make a run. TPX will need help and may get it and if the bats start to catch fire instead of smolder they can be a force. ==========
Staff writer JL East Cobb Astros bounces back against Georgia Guns 8 - 0 Astros display a dominating performance. Strong bats, pitching and defense. They are making this interesting. Guns bats were quieted by quality pitching.
==========
Staff writer RK Jacksonville Blueclaws Navy over North Gwinnett Bulldogs - Red 6 - 3 Blue Claws use lower part of rotation and win a close one. Blue Claw bats are not lighting it up but did enough to win. Great battle for the Bulldogs with great coaching. Blue Claws are sitting good with two wins if the Longhorns falter and Horns have the hardest part of of the pool upcoming. |

Looking at the schedule the games must have gotten rained out Saturday. It only shows 1championship game on Sunday. Too bad. The best 2 out of 3 was a nice set up. Anything interesting or exciting going on down there? Everyone seems quiet today. |

QUICK HIT REPORTS RAIN DELAYED AND EARLY MORNING
Staff writer JL RBA Titans Baseball in a nail cruncher Southern Longhorns 2-1 Another great ballgame with many turns and twists. But not many runs due to solid play all around by both teams. These two teams are very classy and definately in the top five if not two in tourney.
==========
Sent by staff writer JL Team TPX in the intermission game over East Cobb Select Bulldogs 6-2 Much stronger rebound performance for TPX. The rain split game seemed to refocus TPX and take the Bulldogs down a notch. TPXs bats still suffering with true Major bump artists. Some of line up on both sides struggled. Have to give a solid pitching performance from a non flame throwing TPX hurler who hit his spots and kept the Bulldogs guessing with nice command. Reminded me of John Smoltz.
==========
Sent by staff writer JL Southern Longhorns squeak one out over scrappy North Gwinnett Bulldogs - Red 5-4 What can you say about the Bulldogs? They are very scrappy and have played some great teams very tough. Really thought they would pull this one out. Longhorns had their hands full but kept their composure and showed that they nevery shy away from a challenge.
==========
Sent by staff writer RK Team TPX win on a strong semi solo performance over East Cobb Astros 8-4 Looks like TPX is using the peaking technique to come on strong with bats. Bottom line is their ACE pitched a gem and got the run support with the bats. TPX flame thower had Astros guessing and when they figured it out it was much too late. Slightly sloppy play from both sides but due to the conditions.
Key for Florida pool is for Blue Claws to win out otherwise TPX could blind steal this one. Very interesting.
RBA seems to be large and in charge on the Georgia side. We will see how Bulldogs play TPX later today.
Watch for our scores posted real time for the most part. |

Im not there but it looks like the ga side is pretty secure with the Titans, Florida looks like a 3 team race to the finish. Claws in the driver seat with 2 tough games ahead, Horns got to get through the Astros, Tpx needs a clean game against the bulldogs red to stay afloat. Go TPX Keep pressing. |

Asros have dropped a couple. TPX let 1 slip away,LongHorns got beat, NG Red can't find a win along with EC Select, the Guns are no longer "Blazin". Blue Claws and RBA are rolling and their matchup should decide who's the best. |

QUICK HIT REPORTS
Staff writer RK Jacksonville Blueclaws Navy dominate RBA Titans Baseball 11-5 Blue Claws are pinching on all fingers right now. Bats awoke completely and with mid level rotation in pitching stymed RBAs bats along with solid defense. Both teams will have a rematch and both teams are set with pitching. It is going to be a wild one. |

Way to go Claws keep it going. I almost called homer style. Our coaching staff and parents could see it at the TC-J2TS; we could all tell they were coming together as a team. As our team goal is to keep improving they are most definately doing so. Like my mother always did when I got stung by a bee. She pulled the stinger out and it was all better.
Great showing by Longhorns and TPX.

With no dog in the fight. I will go with Blue Claws and Astros in the ship. With a little bit of local homerism thrown in for good measure. My apologies in advance if i offend anyone.
Astros-Coach Wes is a great leader and will have them ready. The are improving by the minute. Defense and bats setting the night on fire (pardon the pun). Saw and met them at Lake City SNIT and they had the talent and if improving like we hear and see on the blog then they are a force to be reckoned with.
Blue Claws-Would have won last week had the Stealth not been in the way. For sure had the hardest bracket to overcome. Noted pick up will be in attendance this week from what we hear. They did get stronger with exodus. If bats stay hot and the pick up can pitch as advertised then they are hard to bet against.
Honorable mention are TPX and Sluggers from FLA. Not fully briefed on the others.

QUICK HIT FINAL REPORT
Staff writer RK Team TPX tops North Gwinnett Bulldogs Red 6 - 5 TPX and NGB played a good game. Could tell wind was out of TPX's sails but they played hard as did NGB. Can only imagine had the TPX had more depth/ACES in the stable like the one they had working the mound today against the Astros. (Cannot tell you how impressed we were with that performance). Or if the coach would have thrown him earlier against RBA to control the pace of the game as that was one that only barely slipped out of grasp.
We will not be able to cover the Ship. It will be a good one for sure.
Georgia/Florida Showdown NIT - 4/20/2012 - Thoughts and Highlights
The coaching staffs' of RBA and Blue Claws both were careful to conserve pitching but make changes to the rotation at the first sign of issues. That was the difference in the tournament and more so on the Florida side with the top three being neck and neck till the Claws put it out of reach.
The Blue Claw parents were cheerful and polite. Some take it seriously but had fun with it. In talking to a Blue Claw parent they have in the past three weeks seen the players attitudes change and take on a new face while coming together as a team. Whatever it is it is working.
TPX group was jovial and good natured. Uniforms were loud and different yet sharp. Definately get the "Deion Sanders" award for best dressed and unis. Based on a conversation with one TPX parent they have some players that do not pitch and thus limited. From our perspective and that of the parent TPX is on the brink, with a few "key" pick ups who can pitch as well as play positions, of being a national force as the Blue Claws and RBA proved they are today. However, TPX seems set on its current roster so development of one or two more in-house pitchers is key for big tourneys to come. This team is improving weekly and just had a hard break in a tournament that did not allow any loses in their given bracket.
RBA parents were thrilled and a great group to chat informally with. Per a parent they are thrilled at the coaching and how well the kids played. This team is getting better every week. Watch out for this squad.
Astros parents, players and coaches were gracious no matter the circumstances. Astros fans, coaches and players get the "Sportsmanship" award. Well coached and getting better as well. I would watch out for them at the tail end of the season as they are going to peak at the right time. Per a parent these kids have only been together about 6-7 months if I am not mistaken. Best is yet to come.
Every team and parents we interacted with where class acts. Too many to mention.
In addition, too bad for the delays that caused the loss of the two out of three format championship format as that would really stress the rotation for the two teams in the final.
Not to slight any team it would have been nice to see that team with "Florida" on their jerseys in the last slot for Florida or a team or two out of Orlando or S. Florida. And two other Georgia power squads out of the middle of the State and one slightly northeast of there at the Cobb.

Claws new acquisition was as advertised pitching in the Ship. Georgia Titan team played a solid game too and had a chance to win but reliever closed them out. Nice work Blue Claws and making my prediction correct. You guys are on a roll.

You will have to hold that one down at the 12u. Working a collegiate story and staff is assigned elsewhere. May send staff but coverage will be minimal for your age and others.
