Great AA/AAA tourney was played this weekend at Sandy Plains. Age divisions were 11U, 12U and 13U.
Some very evenly matched teams as there were only 1 or 2 wins by more than a few runs. Alot of 1 and 2 run games.
Lots of home runs and the bats were checked and all found to be legal so the talented hitters got to show their stuff.
Cherokee Reds won the 13U championship over the East Side Broncos.
Team Georgia took the 12U championship over a very talented and strong North Carolina Young Guns.
East Cobb Team Reebok beat out a very strong Roswell Hornets in the 11U championship.
Congrats to all the teams for a great weekend of baseball.

Sandy Plains is a nice park but fields less then 200ft are way too small for 12yr olds to be playing on. Wood bat tournament would be good on those fields.

Hi Pappi,
We agree. The fields are over 200' but not enough over 200' for 12 year olds. We are asking the governing board to push back the fences on one of the fields to at least 240' to make that field more suitable for 12U ball, it looks like there is room.
We discussed changing the format to a wood bat for exactly the same reason so thanks for your input!
