I can assure you that several of us AA teams from last year that moved up are hoping to be a "dark horse" but my money is on one of the many teams that got elevated to MAJ that will beg to be lowered back to AAA after the SNIT and then will dominate the classification. Of course, I could be wrong.
I agree, Chris. We would love to play them, as well. The Diamond Bears are a very good team and beat us every time we played when my son played on a previous team. I hope we get the chance to play them this year.
As for my comment about the teams that were elevated, I wasn't being critical at all. There are some very good AAA teams that are accustomed to winning championships that just got elevated to MAJ and if they go 2-2 and are eliminated in the quarter finals at MAJ will think that they cannot compete at that level and will ask to be moved back down. It happens every year.
My team did a pretty good job winning AA tournaments last year but I have already prepped my parents that at AAA don't be surprised if you are at home in time to catch the end of the race on Sundays...at least in the beginning. But we will not ask to be lowered back to AA unless we are just getting killed in tournaments. We will improve as the year progresses....I hope ;)
Christheump, we agree with coach tony and figure we are two of the best AA teams from last year trying to see if we can compete every week at the AAA level this year. And as coach tony states we plan in staying there all year even if we don't win a tourney as long as we are competitive. Maybe we will see the force in a bronze bracket championship game :) We can only hope you get to call the game ( and we would love to know what park you'll be umping each weekend because we respect the job you do....
