I am curious who you think will be the top 10 teams at 12 U next year.
sportdad2, this is really up for debate since most of the top ten arent playn fall or even practicing. here is my best educated guess at a preseason top 10, please be aware I am not tryn to offend anyone but givn my .02 cent.
Instead of ranking the top ten, let me break it into groups.
EC Braves and Stealth, should be the top 2 teams in the state. correct me if i am wrong but they didnt get to play much against each other last yr.
EC Rays, EC Astros, EC horns, GA Grays, Shiloh all make up the next group. Any of these teams can knock off the one of the top 2 so that is why I put these teams in this group.
Elite Gamers, CC bulldogs, WP Titans & Mocs make up the next group of teams. All these guys are competitive with the 2nd group but would need a perfect game to beat the top 2 teams so that is why they are here.
A couple of teams that could break into the top include, GA Select Red & HP Dogs
Thoughts?

Way too much love for the East Cobb teams. Wills Park proved on the field to be better than some EC teams in the second group and CC Bulldogs is as good or better than the second group as well. I'm not taking shots at anyone but think that WP and CC are better than you give them credit for. |

EC Astros haven't even played together as a team yet....no record to go off of and you have them in the top 10??!! There is always so much movement on the off season that most teams are like new since they have never played together as a team. |

I would agree with JJJ too much love for East Cobb teams.. In regards to Wills Park; their are two teams that play out of Wills Park that are very good and can hang with the East cobb teams.. |

I took shots at the guys that are constantly putting other teams or kids down to help them feel better about their own team - again I shouldn't have done it. It's the same guys/teams doing this every year. I should not have done that but I'm tired of the "we have the best P or 3rd Baseman" or whatever crap these teams are throwing around.

Can we just let the kids play and have fun and stop with all the rankings and predictions? These things benefit nobody. Bravesfan is one of several on here that are always talking about there own team. It seems the Longhorns have taken a break from the message board chest pounding. Last year, every post was from the Longhorns or Rays and both turned out to be solid but far from the dominate teams they predicted in fall ball.
The Rays had a .500 record against majors so they were barely a major team let alone a team challenging for the top spot. The Rays were about even with Wills Park and yet Wills Park was AAA team that doesn't come on here talking about how great they are and who they picked up. It's fall ball!
I'm tired of reading these useless post. How about talking about USSSA making us all go out and buy new bats even though the ones we had last year would work just fine. I just lost $300 out of the deal as my sons bat from last year would have worked just fine. It sounds like I need to go out and buy a $300 sticker. I'm very surprised that this isn't a bigger deal in these difficult financial times. I'm hiding the bat from the wife as she would go crazy to see we had to spend more money on travel baseball.

Let me understand this, I have WP & CC in the top 10 and some say I am not giving them any credit? Exactly how high should these teams be? Like most people, i know nothing about cc but their record isn't anything that impressive and I wonder if they belong in the top ten over teams like the stars and 643. For a team that registers as aaa, i cant put them any higher then they are, register a major team and then we can talk.
And as far as the Warriors, they are a tough aaa team but i cant put them in this group not having beaten any of these teams. have they? |

outtahere,
off season turnover is not as big as people make it out to be, sure a handful of kids will make a switch but its usually the kids not playing that move as they see the writing on the wall in terms of spring. the astros have a very good nucleus of players, many of which are good enough to start on most of the top 10 teams listed so why wouldn't they be in the conversation of being that good? its not like they picked up 9 kids from aaa teams, i think 8 are off major teams.

JJJ is a fresh voice of reason that's not guzzling the ecb cool aid. Just look at the team USA rosters and see how many played at ECB this year. |

BravesFan, I think JJJ was referring to WP Titans team and I agree with him as they really finished strong this past year and should be included in your Rays, Astros and Horns group.
18* USSSA Battle of the South Wills Park Titans 2 East Cobb Braves 0 21* State Tournament - Open Wills Park Titans 8 Elite Gamers Red 0 22* State Tournament - Open Wills Park Titans 16 Middle Georgia Moccasins 6 23* State Tournament - Open Wills Park Titans 9 East Cobb Rays 5

Well I guess from my screen name you can guess who I represent in this discussion. Just us simply being mentioned in this discussion is a bonus for us. We certainly do not have the opportunity to turn over our team like the ecb teams simply due to the numbers. Our pool to draw from is simply bone dry so we have to play with who we have. That being said we have a pretty good group of kids and even better parents that represent our area rather admirably. We have enjoyed coming up there and playing the best the last couple years and hope to be able to return this spring. Guys, all I ask is please take it easy on us when you see us on the field. |

this thread was about 12U ECB teams so there is no reason to hate on the teams out of the park and why does the team usa roster have anything to do with 12U teams at ec?
I think we all like a voice of reason but also people need to back up what they post here with some valid points. |

No I don't think you do get it. I am just a person who loves the game and is tired of the self proclaimed "majors/elite" who constantly looks down on other teams while self praising a select few. " it's not like the astros picked up AAA players". Come on does that statement really do anything but bash boys that don't play for the 8 or so major teams. No one talks about anything constructive just comparing who should beat who. I sat back for the long time and finally it seems a few people are coming out of the woodwork to stand up and disagree with the nonsense that occurs at this age group. Hopefully it will change the tone on the topics, and I have no affiliation to the warriors or CC. I do know that the warriors are a solid team and must be doing something right since their roster stays nearly the same year after year, unlike others. |

Played the Phillies in the Championship game this weekend and they are solid. Don't know how many were their regulars and if any pickups as the fall always gets interesting with football etc. Very good defensive team and threw and hit well with good size. Catcher has a cannon and the big lefty that threw the game was spot on. Very consistent team with good coaching. |

Kcndfan, Thanks for the props, you guys are equally as solid. And yes that is my spring roster. We played most of the fall with very few pick ups. That pitcher you guys have is one of the best we have seen all fall, and we have seen alot. That kid is a Majors type pitcher. Wish you guys the best next spring.

Alright, it's been a few months since this thread started so most of these 0ECB teams have filled their rosters. I know there are other teams out there, but in the spirit of the original post...Does anyone have any new information on how the ECB teams are looking? |

Man, there is a lot of chest pounding here. I have an idea. All the guys who think their team is the best put in $1000.00 tournament fee, and winner take all! I remember winning a golf tournament with my brother a few years ago and we won 250$ in club credit. He was all worried he would lose his amateur status in GOLF! HAHA.
I know people will say you can't play for money. Fine put in the $1000 and the winner gets 8000$ worth of trophies....Gold plated, or even rings! |

Spartan, I wondered if anyone would dare say it! Don't ever tell me TBS does all this special research to find the top teams! In the 11u thread there talking like all teams for the TBS tourny earned their spot??? I can tell without any doubt in 12u that's not the case what so ever!!!! In fact there's a team that has not even played a tournament?? I wonder how that happened???

The ASTROS will be a well coached team with deep pitching do not sleep on the RAYS they made some good moves. LONGHORNS with the kids from the south side they picked up and now with a paid coach. The season is here so lets see what happens in the next month. Then you can say who is the top team. |

I agree 100% with what you said. From what I know of the Astro's they will be very well coached, but I think the Braves, Rays, and Longhorns are all 3 improved from where they started last season and I just don't see how a team that has NEVER played a game is already included in a "national championship".... Waters down what should be a really great tourney, would be nice if all the GA invites weren't given out by reputation and teams would actually EARN their way into it. 12U should be a lot of fun either way!! Just ready to start the season already..... |

Couldn't say it any better one way, looks like these teams will be in many of the sme tournaments in March so it should be war each time out on Sundays.
Don't forget about Stealth, they dominated most other GA teams last yr. |
