How do you know the rankings on all the ECB teams. Our son will be trying out(12u) in a few weeks and we would like for him to continue on a major team. Any details on this program will be appreciated, this program is new to us.

Best way is the check out usssa rankings and see who played majors last season and their records, there were 5 major ecb teams last season and there will probably be a couple more.

I would check ecb website to look for potential teams for your son and schedule a private tryout or check the team tryouts section of this message board. These teams usually have most of there rosters full by the regular tryouts not to mention there will be alot of kids and could be hard for coaches to get a good look at your boy.
Good luck!!!!

you can always chck tournament records too, what types of tournaments have they played and have they done well or gone 0-3. plenty of teams "classify" themselves as majors but are they truely?? I dont think going 3-12 vs majors teams cuts it

bravesdad, sounds like you are very knowledgeable of the ECB program so im gonna sock it to ya! should we contact coaches before the tryouts? there was a team suggested to us after my son was there for a clinic. I dont want to get there and not give my son a fair shot. why do they have this tryout if all teams are already put together. like i said before any info is helpful!!

Yes, contact every team you would like to play on before the season is over and know your options. Most top teams already know who they want and have them locked before tryouts and only need a limited number of players. 643 gives a fair shake. They had approx 70 players come out for 24 positions today. In 72 hrs there will be a mad rush for the ones that dont make it to find a team. Some coaches are nice enough to tell you if you are safe.

Many of these teams are holding private workouts so you can attend these and get to meet the coaches. All teams are not put together before the try out but many of the top teams might be just depends. Even if you get an offer ans accept you still have to attend the try out anyway so you cant lose

just curious unosmom, have you not played 11u major ball in GA this season? There are only a handful of major teams in the state and I think most people would agree who the top 3-4 teams are but this might help you see

ecbpappi, curious -- Why did you use Power Rating over USSSA rating? Does one have more significance over the other?

what other usssa rating would you use? points is just a matter of whoever played more usssa tournaments and the coaches poll is not an accurate gauge.

power rankings at least look at your winning percentage, teams beaten and other aspects. you can always use head to head match ups too
