With all the moves I'm hearing and team shake ups(real or perceived) how will all the top teams look come next spring? One of the threads on the General tab talks about loyalty - it goes both ways and we shall see how loyal coaches and players are to each other in the next couple of weeks.

1. Will this Yard Dog team stay together at 11U or will they move on like some have in the past? This team seems to be a closer/stronger than teams in the past - will they stay pat or make changes?

2. What will the Longhorns/Astros look like next season? With them adding a new coach will they be able to keep their core and attract talent?

3. Will 643 be able to improve on their year end success or will they go backwords? We should know shortly after this weekends tryout/clinic.

4. Will Ringgold with their stability be able to move past others or will they go backwords with their smaller pool to pick from?

5. Will Covington, Sig. Park, Mill Creek and Wills Park be able to attract a couple of impact players to push them to the top - all can play will anyone from game to game, they just need to add pitching depth.

6. Where will all the Yankee, North Cobb and OP players land? Many impact players are out there that could very much improve many of the current top teams - this will be interesting to see where they all end up.

7. Ok I'll ask - will the GA Hurricanes build on their success last year and add to an already impressive team and move up to majors and compete with the big boys week in and week out?

Also, look out for 1 or 2 teams that are not on the radar to be playing with all the big boys by year end.

Saw a list of the JCS Jackhammers that their new coach emailed to the tryout attendees. Looks like they only kept a few from last year and there was definitely some OP and North Cobb players on there as well.

I heard they have 5 from OP 3 from NC and kept 3 from last years team, I'm not sure of all of the kids but they should improve over last year. Plus the owner and a couple of non-dad baseball guys will be coaching the team. They are changing the name to the JCS Minors.

Also heard 3 other OP kids and 4-5 NC kids are forming another team with a couple of EC kids that may be very solid as well.

BBNutz,
Is the new team with OP, NC, and EC players the cyclones that's been posting tryouts or is there another new one?

I'm amazed each year of the turnover on teams and not just the lower teams. Grass is always greener.......or so they think.

No, the Cyclones are a different team (AAA). The JCS team is a major.

It was a great season and the off season is making me think the 11u season will be more of the same!
My thoughts are
(1) Yard dogs stay together and play very well
(2) The Longhorns / Astros will be the best team. One of the best in the country. With a great new coach and fantastic talent (more coming) I believe they will be the team to beat.
(3) 643 will continue it's climb to the top. I believe 643 and the Hurricanes will continue to be the best coached teams in the age group. Talent is almost there.
(4) Ringlod will continue to be solid, but not at the top. They pull kids from Georgia and TN, their pool is pretty big.
(5) All will be better than last season...more competitive programs.
(6) With so many new teams in EC as well outside, they will be all find homes on good teams. We all witnessed new teams rising to the top and some falling.
(7) Georgia Hurricanes will continue to generate buzz. A saw that that they only added 3 players to last seasons squad. Should be interesting but like 643 must believe in the coaches.

Will be interesting as it seems as though there are many teams turning over this year and many boys looking for new teams.

It would be tough to predict what teams will be next season this early without all the tryouts being complete. I don't think there will be major shake ups now with the top 4 teams, maybe a couple of adds and deletes but not major turnover but it's still early. The interesting part is always seeing if the changes help a team or move it backwords. I've seen many teams add talent but that doesn't always translate to results.

Based on the roster, the JCS team will be dominant this year (and no I don't have a kid on the team).

Dominant is a very strong word, I do believe looking at their team they will be very solid but I don't believe they will have enough pitching to be dominant.

643 is supposed to announce 2012 roster today. They should be at the top without question. There will be a mad rush to find a good team for those that did not make it. Most good teams are only looking for one or two players by now for next yr. 11u. It now changes from a players market to a coaches market. With the way teams are combining and core break-up I think there will be a shake up a the top.

I agree with Card6 that the coaching will begin to make an even larger impact. I think 643 is very well coached. I believe coaching along with very good talent; they are the team to beat. I really like the coaching addition the Longhorns / Astros made as well. I believe both will be among the nation’s best. I am also very impressed with the Hurricanes staff and what they have done with their team. I believe they will be one of the top teams also, assuming coaching makes a difference. When the dust settles, these three teams will be among the country’s best, all from our backyard.
