Yard Dogs represented very well. Defensive MVP belongs to Yard Dog player as well. Great kid. Very proud of you T.L. and the entire Yard Dogs team.

Awesome showing by the Yard Dogs in the Elite 32 again this year!!

Last year you guys made it to the Final Four and this year to the Championship game. A nice win in pool play against the highly regarded Nomads Elite squad. Then coming back in bracket and beating Lightning Baseball twice to get through. We finally got the long awaited match up between the Yard Dogs and Oakley Stingrays. I would loved to have seen that game!!

I think that makes back-to-back for Oakley in the Elite 32 which is also quite impressive.

I bet you guys thought fall 10 year old baseball was over. Well the mighty Yard Dogs didn't think so as they scratched and clawed there way from taking a one lose in bracket play to playing 2(6inning games) on Thursday and 3 on Friday and 3 games on Saturday in 95plus degree weather. The Yard Dogs showed strength and determination as they made it to the championship game and coming up short by two runs. There was no loosers here. Only best and second best. Thanks for cheering and support from fans, especially East Cobb longhorns head coach. Parents and coaching staff were terrific as they prepared the young men for the long haul. Well off to Collierville Tenn. and Puerto Rico for the AABC title. HEY Georgia Yard Dogs!!!! WOOF WOOF

Congratulations to the Yard Dogs on a great showing at the Elites. Nomads Lightning & MVP are all top notch teams and you guys grinded it out all the way into the finals, and had Oakley tied most of the way. Proud of you guys. We'll try to bring the NYBC trophy to the East Coast.

Heard they only had 8 players show up yesterday. Hopefully they will have their full team the rest of the weekend.

Looks like the Yard Dogs bounced back today beating the Elite 32 Champs Oakley Stingrays 4-3 in their 2nd pool game.

Interesting pickups from Yankees and Longhorns. Looks like those guys were pretty key to the win over Stingrays.

How in the world do you get to the NYBC and have only 8 kids show up for a game??

It looks like their 2 middle guys played for the Longhorns and Yankees last year - both must of played with the Yard Dogs in PR to play in the NYBC. I have no problem with it when it's allowed.

I know that the Longhorn's SS played in Puerto rico with the Yard Dogs because I saw an article on Travelballselect about him wining the tournament MVP but I was told he could not make the NYBC because of football commitments. I dont know if the Yankee player went to Puerto Rico but must have for him to be on the Roster. It is just nice that they are using local talent.

I disagree as it doesn't keep in the spirit of youth sports. And the excuse that "everybody is doing it" just doesn't sit well with me. I really wish 10-yr old baseball was more about the kids and less about the parents/coaches wanting to win at all costs.

Looking at the scores this morning, I see where the Yard Dogs did end up playing the Mississippi Athletics. The box score shows an amazing comeback win 8-7 with 4 in the bottom of the 6th after being down 6-0 after one. The Longhorn kid pitches 6 in relief and the Yankees kid drives in the game winner. Does anyone have any details on this game?? I thought this was supposedly the forfeit game??

Well to clarify everything. The two kids that were picked up to play with the YardDogs were from the OTC program in Mcdonough with the SS only playing half the season with ECB Yankees after playing 5 years in Mcdonough. I though this was about 9 kids getting together to play highly competitive baseball in late August., at least that's what it looked like to me when I was there. Great job guys. Again, way to represent the state of Georgia.
