I just moved from Tampa to Gainesville. Played major in Tampa. Who are the top Major and AAA teams in the area. I do not mind driving 30-45 minutes to have him play for a top team. I know of the East Cobb teams, but are there any other teams that play a lot of ball and are closer. He is going to be a 12u player in the fall. We are used to playing 2-3 tournaments a month and at leat one dh a month.

Closer to that area you have Shiloh Titans, Georgia Select Red, North Gwinnett Bulldogs, and a few others.

As far as the top teams, I would say Select and Shiloh are two of the better ones on that side of town but they are probably an hour from you in gainesville. Unfortunately, your not in a strong area for major travel teams.

Check out Milton Nationals @ www.miltonnationals.com, practices are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings and tournament only team with season ending in Cooperstown. This 7/9 and 7/13 are tryout dates. 35 minutes from Gainesville. Great team, great families and will be high AAA/major next year.

The Shiloh Titans are a successful returning Major team that will select its 2012 team by the end of July. We will play in the top tournaments, and end the season in Cooperstown. Our practice facility is 30-40 minutes from Gainesville.

Please call Brett Stovern at 404-291-7072 for additional information.

Georgia Select just finished the season 42-8-1 with a Triple Crown State Championship, USSSA State Championship and GrandSlam World Series Championship. You can read a little about our teams, organization, and facilities at georgiaselect.com.

I'm the coach for the Gainesville Braves AAA team that will be competing in tourneys and Cooperstown next summer. I'd love to give you an overview of our program, or at least welcome you and your family to Gainesville and help your boy meet some friends his age.
