Man these are some tough pools to call.
A---- MGBA. & OP Sharks
B----NG Bulldogs & Bandits
C---- Gamers & NIB Vipers

Pool A is the toughest.

This format will make for 2the very tired and tested teams on Sunday.

Good Luck to all and we will see you at the final 4! This weekend we will be at the pool and sitting in the ac. After last weekend we are still trying to heal our sore arms and rashes.

Looks like some late changes in schedule down to 10 teams.should be good weekend of baseball if we go 2-1 this weekend and don't get in bracket play I will come unglued. I agree will be some tired following play on sunday. Might have to play 7-8 games. Since we are playin in it I won't make any predictions just hope to play well. Good luck to all.

Having played against two of the kids that are now added to the GA Select roster, they are the team to beat. If you were in pool b, you have to be thankful that this got changed with teams dropping out. Until you get to bracket play anyway.

Why play tournaments you know you are going to win?? There is a lot of handpicking of tournaments that occurs around Gwinnett county that I will never understand....

For the record, select parent does not have a player on the 11AAA Ga Select. Do not take his assumptions as those of our team..

Well gamers black made it in. We definetly not playin r best ball played a lot better last week and didn't get in funny game. Field 5 has terrible mound but same for both teams. Hopefully we step it up tommorow probaly not enough pitching to win it all. Good job by jody calling games early and not keeping teams there late tonight. North gwinnett best team not in final 6 could have easily went 3-o in pool play. Best of luck to all teams tommorow and can't wait for 2 hours of milk jugs lol.

Lots of good games, hopefully bracket play is as great as the pool play games.

Frankly, like the Bulldogs, the NIB Vipers could have fairly easily gone 3-0 in pool play...but instead are on the outside looking in. Tied NG Bulldogs (Vipers had the winning run thrown out sliding into home in the bottom of the extra inning), lost to MGBA (after having 7-4 lead in the 4th, and tie game in the 5th), and lost to the Chain 5-4 (Vipers had a runner on and the winning run at the plate in the bottom of 6th).

Good luck to everyone today.

USSSA needs to revise the format and drop the consolation game in these state events. Simply stated its just stupid the way they set this up. When you have teams from opposite pools play each other in pool play and then take the top three teams from each pool, it doesn't really mater how well your record in pool play is. You have no control over your seeding, even if you just win your games. Why are you having teams in opposite pools play each other when all the teams in a pool can't even play each other in three games?

It has to be one or the other. Either make it an event with 3 team pools, 2 pool games and double elimination brackets or play imbalanced pools like this, seed everyone top to bottom and let all teams advance. Personally I would rather pay to play games that matter than play a set number of games. My team did not get it done this weekend, but because of the format, we only played two games that mattered and were mathematically eliminated before our third pool game even started.

Hey USSSA, its not the number of games, its the quality of competition and the opportunity to compete and advance that matters. Probably our last trip to this one until the format is tweaked.

I think it's time for usssa to bump up this team to majors, why stay and dominate AAA teams?

We did not have a chance to play the Select, but I did get a chance to watch parts of the games on Sunday, and talk with a few of the parents and coaches. They are a class act. Congradulations.
