I gotta go with Nitro! Considering its my cousins team I have to go with them. Good luck to all. The way see it, State will be won with the fewest errors. Error free defense will win any tournament out there.

These should be some good games. I have gotten to see several of these teams play. These are my top 4: Force, Sting, Select, Diamond Bears....BUT DO NOT let those Comets jump up and bite you in the rear....The Nitro are solid, well coached team, but always seem to run into a buzzsaw on Sunday.

Force, Sting & Select have shown they are very beatable as of late. Diamond Bears look good, but a AAA caliber team playing AA should. Comets aren't to be looked over either. Nitro has the talent to beat anybody out there, they just need to close the deal. Don't overlook East GA Baseball, those guys are solid. Either way it should be a great tourney with solid competition. Good luck to all.

I cant speak for the rest of them, but I can assure you that the Force has ALWAYS been beatable not just lately. :)

Agreed. We had to play them twice a few weeks ago and they played well enough to beat us and any other team out there both times....the baseball Gods were just shining on us that weekend.

Once again, I agree. I would be surprised if they were not playing Sunday afternoon. But, then again, I thought for sure that the Jefferson Heat would have been playing last Sunday afternoon and it just wasn't their day.

Normally I can look at a tournament and pick out the 2 best teams and the two weak teams and then the rest would be in the middle. In this tournament there are not 2 weak teams and the rest could all be considered among the best so it's truly anybody's tournament to win.

With that said, I will tell you what I tell my parents all the time....."There is only one team playing out there that I am truly scared of......OURS" If we play like I have seen us play, we can make some noise. If we come out flat, like we do sometimes, then we can go swimming on Sunday!

Good Luck to all the teams this weekend!!!

nbcfyoy - EVERY team is beatable....remember they are all just 11 year old boys. Your Nitro team has been playing well...Good luck to you!

I agree...the Nitro team is tough. They are another one of the teams that could easily come away with a win.

After being a part of some good AA ball today and getting soaked by the nectar of the skies, I will say Diamond Bears and Force will be the last two standing in this one. Force's loss came in a pretty meaningless game. Tony it was great meeting you today. Good Luck.

Meaningless??

Tony would agree that there are no meaningless games. Good luck to his group. They play really smart baseball.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Chris. The Diamond Bears have looked like the team to beat all weekend but it will depend on what happens when they finish their delayed game in the morning. Amazingly enough, if the Diamond Bears continue to win it, then the Comets will be the 2 seed, but if they lose then the East Georgia team could conceivably be the 1 seed and we would have to play the DB's in the semis. Of course, with the final 4 teams in this tournament any one of us could end up first or fourth.

It was a pleasure to meet you today, as well. Sorry you were not calling our games, but I will give major props to the team that did...they were as good as any officiating we have seen all year, if not better. Those boys hustled, and it is hard to argue a call with an umpire who is standing 3 feet from the play.

Happy Fathers Day, Chris!! Enjoy spending the day with your kids!!

Sorry for the harsh tone, they were in no way directed at the Nitro. I happen to really like the Nitro. What was meant was The Force were in Win, Lose, or Draw and sometimes that can take the competitiveness out of the kids.

I agree, there are no meaningless games....but I also understand what Chris was trying to say, as well.

Thanks for the kudos, nbc....our only loss this weekend came against your team and you absolutely earned the win. Your pitching staff seemed to have our number and your batters were hitting balls that we simply could not handle.

I think the one thing that stands out in this tournament to me and shows the quality of all the teams in this tournament was the average run differential. Going into the last game of the tournament the team with the BEST differential was the Sting with 1.6. If that doesn't show you how closely these teams were matched, nothing will.

It was a fun tournament...we consider ourselves very fortunate to come out with the win. It could have been ANYBODIES tournament to win.
