That was the #8 team and the #6 team....so how was it deemed it was the #9 and #4 team this time??? Guess there is no set way they actually pick these games like they say there is...

I cannot find any consistency in the pool groupings or matchups for these State tourneys....several events with the same number of teams but different pool groupings and matchups.

Here is how it works. Write down a 5 team tourney and have all 5 teams play 3 games and don't play the same 2 team twice. The only way to do it is to have a crossover.
1v2 2v3
1v3 2v4
1v4 3v5
4v5 5v?

itsaboutbb,
Please refrain from using logic in the future. Next thing you know, you'll be telling me that there were NOT 3 other shooters on the grassy knoll, we actually DID walk on the moon, and 9/11/2001 was NOT a plot by our government.

Why waste a good conspiracy theory when you don't have to?

Well logic would also tell you to look at both pools and see if there is anyone with an easy route to the finals and possibly give them the crossover game vs a tougher opponent, since it is a TD choice at this point....?????

I got HP #1 after pool play. After that it's on. Pitching depth will abviously be a big factor in the end and may very well favor the Astro's, depending on who picks up who for this tournament.

Anyone know the scores of the Pride vs Titans and MGBA vs Extreme games? For some reason they are not posted.

MGBA scored 3 in the 6th to break a 3-3 tie, and won 6-3. Not sure how the Pride and Titans finished. I know they started almost 11 1/2 hours late for some reason.

Then who's choice is it, because there is no clear formula to how it is done clearly in previous 10 team tournaments, seems as if it is a "random" choice....who then makes that choice is the question that is on the table,sir....and we move on when I say we move on...hahaha

The EC Pride had the Astros 7-3 in the 3rd and the game was called on a illegal pitching. The Pride won on the scoreboard and the Astros won on the technical. Good job to both teams for making it to the championship game!

Posts like this are pretty sad. The Astros won on the scoreboard if the other team used an illegal player to acheive the score to that point. How can you state anything otherwise? Rules are rules and by your statement you are condoning cheating. Who's to say that the Astros wouldn't have been up 3-0 had they thrown one of their horses who was out of innings? If the other team used an illegal player and forfeit as a result, then they lost, fair and square, regardless of the score at the time of the infraction.

Too many innings most likely.

astros are a great team, but had to fight hard to get to ship with RR. Congrats to RR on their hard fight-losing only by 1 to the Astros.

Usually a forfiet is registered as 1 run an inning for the winning team, hence 7-0.

It was ruled a forfeit. The rules score a forfeit 7-0 for some reason.

I noticed something this weekend that made me curious: pitching rules state no more than 3 innings in a day to pitch the next day. Also states that removing a pitcher before an out is recorded doesn't count as any innings pitched and likewise, an inning that ends on a double or triple play doesn't cause a pitcher to go over on innings pitched. But,the pitching reports showed several guys we saw over the weekend getting tagged with 1 full inning when no outs were recorded. Can somebody explain this? I'm obviously missing something too.

I agree rules are rules and the Astros won. The illegal pitching was too many innings by one out. Sorry for the lack of clarity. The Pride was beating them 7-3 hence the scoreboard remark. No runs were scored after the rule breakage. Like I said both teams did a great job getting to that game.
