Many thanks to Roadrunner Nation for hosting this weekend. You guys did a great job. We appreciate the hospitality and hope you understand the forfeit. The team is very beat up after playing 18 games in 13 days and we didn't want to risk further injury. My only regret is, because the boys are growing up, this was likely the last time the 45s will play at Roadrunner Field. What a fantastic place for good ole fashion baseball. Thanks again and look forward to seeing everyone at the Battle in the South.
First, I would like to thank the teams for coming out this weekend.
Yes, the tournament ended with the 45's forfeiting to the Roadrunners. The 45's are a bit banged up and like many teams this time of year, have several injuries. They simply ran out of able bodies to put on the mound. And rather then risk hurting someone else decided to forfeit.
Overall it was a great weekend of baseball. The teams got lots of games and the weather cooperated.
Looks like my original post won't make it on the board due to team specific questions and comments.
Did the 45's have 9 players available for the championship?? How do you say "uncle" if you did have 9 players?? Please let the rest of the 13u world know what happened.
ST, I think most in the "13U world" understand and appreciate coaches that put concepts like "uncle" aside and make decisions based on the best interest and welfare of players.
Happy to respond to your original post should you want to send it to me via email;

Well said I think st overloaded himself with that. There's no uncle being said here the kids were hurting and the only arm left had caught 18 games in 14 days. Great call coach. St you should probably keep that off the board unless u have a rabit in the hunt
