My parents and I were at a tourney this weekend watching my nephew play. What we witnessed was the insanity of adults messing with a game for kids. I'm embarrassed to say it was my nephews team that had coaches that couldn't take a lickin'. I'd rather boys learn to deal with defeat than to shoot a man in the back and call it a win. A very loud coach badgering an opponents hitter, ragging on the ump, and "trying to win a game at any cost". Not verbatim, but pretty close. Not a class act. They moved on in the tourney because of a technicality but didn't "win" a game, then handly got served next game, coup de grāce, for the adults. Oh so wrong for the boys from both teams to see, or perhaps there was a life lesson there outside of the game???

It is very sad how some coaches act in youth baseball. They seem to get worse as the boys get older. I am starting to see why the statistics are so big in boys giving up baseball by the age of 13.
