That works for unsplit bracket tournaments , however when the brackets split if you want to make the gold you have to win at least 1 if not both pool games to make it.

Exactly my point. You manage differently based on single elim, double elim, split bracket, etc, etc. The format of tournament ball dictates your strategy.

The 12U Georgia Bandits slugged their way through one of the most grueling sides of any bracket that we have played this year. Out of the blocks we got the Sharon Springs kids that played their hearts out and didn't quit until the last out and all we got for the win was to play the winner between the #2 and #3 ranked teams in Georgia.

Then to add insult to injury we then got to play the Rocket City RoadRunners and the Valley Thunder from our border friends that hail from Alabama.

The Bandits are blessed with some great kids that can are pitching well and all the hard work that we put in this winter is really paying off. This is a great area to play youth baseball and my hat is off to Triple Crown Baseball and especially Tony V. and the East Cobb folks for putting on one the best tournaments of the year.

I got the honor of getting to watch most of the Bandits vs. Sandtown game. Not only are the Bandits blessed with some of the best players around your coaching is exceptional. I surprised at how well you guys bunted and at the right times to make sure runs scored or moved up into scoring position. I expected a HR Derby, but what I saw was a team that knows how to move runners. I was also fun to see one of your aces in action.

Actually, the TN Naturals ran the 3 game 14 hour day as well. Pool M was toughest pool by far...three teams end up at 0. Very well ran Tournament, umpires were first class...this was my first trip to the "Cobb" needless to say, it won't be my last. The Naturals are a lot better than we showed this weekend. We will be ready for Memorial Day at the Summit.

Clownshow - you are being a little hard on your team. The Naturals are a great team with big bats and stinging power. They came down and proved they can hang with the best. Pool play was not easy and probably the toughest in the tournament. Hats off to the Naturals for a good showing this weekend.

Now, now... Usually Tony orders up the rain for the TN teams so you have to wait to play first then wait some more again, then wait to hear your seeding - late - then find out you have your next game at 8am an hour away from your hotel. Now that's hospitality ;)

Wow. 6-0, RF 68 RA 2. Congrats to the two teams that held them to 6 and the two teams that scored.

Not my age group, but at some point my son and I need to catch one of their games...

Or maybe your dorms "personal pharmacist" Hit that thing again it will ease your glaucoma and you can find your keys! bmoser I have been a fan of all your stats now i have to meet you I cant wait for the next tourney i am going to be standing at the concession stand looking for a "cheech or chong" look a like with the munchies! Allstar; you should make a point of it. It is truly something special to watch. I have never seen a group of kids who can stay so mentally in every single game. We all know the talent is way off the charts but it's their focus to never let off the gas pedal and to concentrate on doing the little things right is truly facinating.
